The University of Hawaii has offered a football scholarship to Keoni-Kordell Makekau.

Pacific Islands Athletic Alliance shared the news on its Facebook page this afternoon.

The versatile ‘Iolani junior received his first offer on Friday from Washington State.

As a wide receiver, he had 49 receptions for 756 yards and seven touchdown catches as the Raiders won the Division II state title. He also kicked eight field goals and was a major factor with his deep range on kickoffs.

Makekau was a Star-Advertiser all-state second-team selection as a utility player. In 2013, he was all-state second team as a wide receiver.

Hawaii now has 14 offers on the table to local football players.
