Kohala eliminates Pahoa from BIIF 8-man race

Defending champion Kohala dropped Pahoa 38-20 on Saturday, eliminating the Daggers from the Big Island Interscholastic Federation 8-man football title chase.

The Cowboys (3-2) visit Ka‘u (3-2) for the championship next Saturday at 2 p.m.


In two previous matchups this season, the two teams each won one. Kohala topped Ka‘u 24-14 on Oct. 8, and the Trojans got past the Cowboys 24-20 on Sept. 24.


The Trojans, who won the BIIF 8-man championship in 2014, are trying to wrest the title back from the Cowboys.


Pahoa finished its season 2-4.
