Two Kapolei defensive ends recently received Division I college football offers, according to Hurricanes coach Darren Hernandez.

Kukea Emmsley, a 6-foot-5, 230-pound senior-to-be, got an offer from Air Force.

Treven Ma’ae, a 6-4, 220-pound junior-to-be who had six sacks last season, received an offer from Navy.

“They are probably the best pair of DE’s we’ve had in a while,” Hernandez texted on Sunday night.

The Hurricanes went 10-3 last season, won the OIA Red championship, lost to Farrington 33-27 in the OIA semifinals, and beat Punahou 33-21 in the first round of the inaugural Open Division state tournament before losing 54-7 to Kahuku in the Open semis.
