Kailua/Kapolei game still on; free admission

There will be no fee to attend tonight’s restarted game between No. 8 Kapolei and No. 10 Kailua at Alex Kane Stadium at 6 p.m. according to OIA football coordinator Harold Tanaka.

The game was postponed with 5:52 remaining in the first quarter on Saturday due to lightning.

Heavy rain and flash flooding have caused problems statewide Monday morning, but Kapolei coach Darren Hernandez texted the Star-Advertiser’s Billy Hull, “the only thing that will stop (the game) will be lightning.”

The Surfriders are one of three remaining undefeated teams in the OIA Blue (Mililani, Farrington).
