
Kapolei offensive coordinator June Jones will serve as one of the two head coaches in the Polynesian Bowl on Saturday, Jan. 21 at Aloha Stadium.
Jones will lead Marcus Mariota‘s team while another former Hawaii coach, Dick Tomey, will head Team Stanley.
Jones, who was the inaugural recipient of the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame Founders Award, will lead a staff that includes Punahou coach Kale Ane, Kapolei coach Darren Hernandez and Kamehameha coach Abu Ma’afala.
Ane will serve as assistant head coach while Ma’afala will be the defensive coordinator and Hernandez will coach linebackers. Ron Lee will serve as offensive coordinator, Vinnie Passes will be the quarterbacks coach and Dennis McKnight will coach special teams. Also on the staff and former UH players under Jones including Lance Samuseva, Nate Ilaoa, Leonard Peters and Isaac Sopoaga.
Tomey’s staff will include Kahuku coach Vavae Tata as defensive coordinator and former Kaiser coach Cameron Higgins as the quarterbacks coach.

Kam’s coach is the defensive coordinator for June’s team? Wow couldn’t find anyone else? Kam gave up like 40-50 points a game. Well, looking on the bright side, Tomey’s players will look good against them. Better exposure.
