Hilo, Konawaena are BIIF football champs

Hilo topped host Kealakehe 41-20 in the Big Island Interscholastic Federation Division I football championship game on Saturday.

Last Friday, Konawaena defeated visiting Kamehameha-Hawaii 44-21 in the BIIF Division II title game.

Both Hilo and Konawaena will represent the BIIF in the upcoming state tournament.


In the Kauai Interscholastic Federation, Kapaa finished an undefeated championship regular season with a 36-0 win over Waimea. The Warriors will be going to the D-II state tourney.

The two Maui Interscholastic League title games will be held this weekend.
