Saint Louis offensive lineman Nate Herbig will make his oral commitment Thursday on a taped segment with sportscaster Rob DeMello on KHON-2 TV news.

Herbig, who has been offered scholarships to play football at nine Division I FBS schools, planned to tape the segment Thursday morning. The schools in the market for the 6-foot-4, 320-pound lineman are California, Colorado, Hawaii, Oregon State, San Diego State, Stanford, Texas Tech, UNLV and Washington State.

Herbig, who will be a senior in the fall, told the Honolulu Star-Advertiser and Hawaii Prep World on Tuesday that he previously narrowed his choices down to seven colleges and that within the last week he and his family made the final decision.

When asked if it was a light or serious oral commitment, Herbig intimated the latter, saying, “That is the school I want to go to and play football for.”

Stay tuned to Hawaii Prep World for an update after the segment airs.
