Hawaii is first FBS offer for Punahou’s Tufono

The University of Hawaii has been busy recruiting on Tuesday. Kamehameha LB/DE prospect Jonah Welch announced on Twitter this morning that he had received a scholarship offer from Hawaii.

Hours later, Punahou’s Maninoa Tufono announced the same.

Tufono is a 6-3, 220-pound linebacker prospect who was also offered by Idaho State. Here’s a video clip of some of his highlights from his sophomore season.

I seen his faddah Albert and Uncle Loimata start for Iolani on the D Line in the 1980 Prep Bowl, where they totally shut down Waianae’s Offense. Younger brother Matt also played for Iolani. How Maninoa and Jack-Eli ever ended up playing for the hated rivals?!
