A six-game slate on Oahu is set for Friday night with the most anticipation for the second game of an ILH doubleheader at Aloha Stadium.

No. 1 Kahuku (4-0, 4-0 OIA Blue) attempts to run its winning streak to 18 games against winless Radford (0-4, 0-3).

Earlier Friday, Kahuku DB Stokes Nihipali-Bolteho won an award from USA Today.

The Red Raiders are ranked No. 17 in the country by USA Today and have not allowed a single point in their last 10 quarters.

HISTORY: Kahuku leads the all-time series 4-3, but the teams have played only once since 1997. (52-7 Kahuku win in 2010).

Live updates of the approximately 7:30 p.m. kickoff to follow below:

9:57 p.m.: Kahuku recovers a fumble at Radford 21 and is taking knees. Game over, 83-0. Kahuku makes the best case a team can make for the open division.

9:52 p.m.: It’s been a quiet 4th, both teams milking it until Nihipali-Bithello scored on a 31 yard pick six. Makes the PAT. 83-0, 3:39

9:48 p.m.: If you are wondering, most points in a game in Oahu history:

9:33 p.m.:
Kahuku emptied its bench long ago and starts its next drive on Rad 36.

9:28 p.m.: KJ Mataciag 8 yard rushing TD. Stokes PAT hits the left upright, no good. 69-0.

9:24 p.m.: Stokes with a punt return to the Radford five and the clock stops after an injury. It’s Radford LB Kyle Sudog, who is still down. He gets up and jogs back to the sideline favoring his right shoulder.

9:20 p.m.: Red Raiders kicking off. Clock is going to run down to the end. The Rams take the field with 11:14 remaining.

9:03 p.m.: Halftime, Kahuku leads 63-0. School record is 78 against McKinley last year, they have scored more than 67 only six times since 1973.

8:58 p.m.: Red Raiders milking the clock here as much as they can. Running the ball a lot, all 11 plays have been rushes on this drive. Ball on Radford 12. 45 seconds left before the half. Steven Lombard pounds it in for a one yard rush. Stokes-Bothello pat good. 63-0, 7 seconds left

8:49 p.m.: Another intentional grounding by Soakai. Too fast, too physical, too intimidating. After a Radford punt, Kahuku to start from midfield. 5:04 in the second.

8:41 p.m.: Next play, Vakapuna receives the option pitch and breaks three tackles en route to a 30 yard TD. Stokes-Botheo PAT good. 56-0, 8:33 left in the second. School record is 78 points against McKinley last year.

8:37 p.m.: Jonah Soakai in at QB for Radford. Last two plays have been from the wildcat formation, but to no avail. 2 plays, 2 yards gained. On the next play they swarm him so hard he intentionally grounds it and barely makes the left sideline. He started from the left hash! Radford shanks the punt. Kahuku starting from the Rams 30.

8:33 p.m.: Red Raiders driving again. Elvis Vakapuna pounding it up the middle a couple of times, playing and looking a lot bigger than his 5-8, 186 listed size. Ball on Radford 19. Harmon Brown with a 19 yard TD rush. Nihipali-Bothello kick good. 49-0, 9:53

8:29 p.m.: 42-0, Kahuku. End of first.

8:23 p.m.: Nihipali-Bothello with a 62 yard punt return for TD. Good grief.
He then makes the PAT. 42-0, 2:23

8:18 p.m.: Rams get a first down but Kesi Ah-Hoy with a 45 yard pick 6! What a play. Ball was tipped around a couple of times but Ah-Hoy snatched it in stride. Nihipali-Bothello PAT good. 35-0, 3:43.

8:14 p.m.: Touchback on the kickoff. Rams starting from own 20

8:11 p.m.: Radford’s biggest gain of their next drive was a penalty that gave them their only first down so far. 4th and 8 from their own 23. Let’s see what kind of snap they can get on this punt.
Kekaula Kaniho with a 2 yard return to Radford 47. First play of the drive is a 47 yard rush TD by Elvis Vakapuna. Symbolic of this game. Was just way faster. Kahuku leads 28-0 with 5:34 left in the first quarter.

8:03 p.m.: Miki Ah You 50 yard pick 6.

7:59 p.m.: Two straight Harmon Brown rushes, the second one a 1-yard TD. Stokes Nihipali-Bothelho PAT good. 14-0, 8:09

7:57 p.m.: Kahuku’s defense is suffocating as expected. Two straight rushes for the Rams for a total of negative 3 yards. Randy Wright incomplete pass. 3 and out for Radford. Bad snap on the punt and Kahuku recovers at Radford 7.

7:50 p.m.: Kahuku driving but a holding call has them at 3rd and 19 from the 26

7:47 p.m.:
Kahuku wins the toss and will receive. Radford squibs the kickoff and it backfires as Miki Ah You returns it to the Rams 17.

7:20 p.m.: Bishop Gorman gets it done, winning 35-20. Quarterback Tate Martell with 183 yards and three touchdowns. Vavae Tata will enjoy watching this boy on tape this week.

  8. Checkyoself September 9, 2016 7:30 pm

Radford gonna have a game that will be with them forever….. But, an experience playing the #1 Kahuku Red Raiders.
I just hope and pray for a safe and competitive style play from the Rams.
Hope an ambulance is nearby. I’m not trying to be funny. This could be a game with a lot of injuries…..

Coach Tata just fine tuning the out of sync with tonight’s game so that they be for sure ready just for Bishop Gorman. Looking good BIG RED, so now just blow the Mercy Rule out of the new format. How sweet it is for Red Raiders Nation, enjoy you half time victory. RR4L

could it be a record breaking 100 point game!

  15. Tutu Kane Ale September 9, 2016 9:15 pm

That’s what happen when you haters bad mouth Carlton Weimer ghetto football field and grandfather scoreboard whereas them two hungry attributes only causes the Red Raiders to play only one kind of format and that’s their own “Mercy Rule Format” like without the clock or scoreboard but what only rule is their final victory score. RR4LE

  16. Tutu Kane Ale September 9, 2016 9:29 pm

It’s all about two hungry attributes, our Carlton Weimer ghetto football field you haters call and our grandfather scoreboard; to the Red Raiders Nation enjoy your half time victory and
go easy on the bus ride homeward like keep it wild but mellow tone and drive safely and with
out mishaps. Congrats OK, how sweet it is got to go moemoe now. RR4LE

  17. 87 September 9, 2016 9:39 pm

be humbo RR fans next week will be a tough one.

  18. Chloropicrin September 9, 2016 10:08 pm

While Kahuku has beaten what was put in front of them, BG has played the best from TX, FL and CA and has won each contest. BG has 8 of the top 15 recruits from Nevada, 3 commuted to Ohio State, 1 Cal, 1 Arizona and 38 offers between the other 3.

Kahuku got a huge task at hand, I hope Kahuku can put on a good showing. Just some perspective who they got next week.

  19. Unko Alvin September 9, 2016 10:14 pm

    Ouch, auwe Tutu Kane like he’s in dream land, anyway just got home from work so it’s my turn on the PC;

Congratulations to Coach Tata and staff, the varsity team, faculty, families and the rest of Red Raiders Nation; we are blessed with what little we do best with and the reward is always the final victory score whereas happy victory tears especially with that kind of Mercy Rule victory score.

Just a few minor bugs that ‘s quick to correct but the BIG RED going to be more then ready for Bishop Gorman; best results for an upset in LV and that may just be, interesting to see what happens?

  20. RRFLbaby September 9, 2016 10:36 pm

Back to work boiz. BG smacked down a pretty damn good Bosco team earlier tonight. Stay humble and focused. Win or lose, you know the community got your back.
    RRFL!

  21. Paper Crane September 9, 2016 11:28 pm

Who knows what year the Mercy Rule took into effect and was that for all school division, jus wondering like the list of most points in a game for Oahu history at one time back then whereas the Mercy Rule was non existence meaning comparing with todays points maybe incompatible?

  22. BleedRed September 9, 2016 11:31 pm

Can’t wait til next week, gonna be a tough one,Gorman destroyed Bosco without Ali-Walsh and Tyjon Linsey.Got my tickets already,go Big Red!

  23. Jerry Campany September 9, 2016 11:38 pm

The mercy rule was instituted in the 2001 season, I believe.

  24. SimpleSimon September 9, 2016 11:39 pm

If you watched the game, you wouldn’t call the BG win a “smackdown”. #nexttimewatchdagame

  25. 87 September 10, 2016 12:16 am

according to the post game interview with BGs QB “no one can hang with us”.

I expect kahuku to stick to their gameplan, it will be a huge task to walk into their home and get the W.

  26. Football Fan September 10, 2016 12:19 am

    83-0

WOW!!! What a class act. If you ask me, I’d say disrespectful. Oh well, I personally don’t think they can do this to the mainland team that they play next.

They sure get cocky with the local teams… But I can’t wait to see how cocky they get against their next opponent. I know how much local braddas hate to lose against haoles.

  27. OHHREALLY September 10, 2016 12:22 am

Before people start getting upset look at how the red raiders scored. Radford turned over the ball all night.. Bad snaps on punts to fumbles and interceptions left them with horrible field position. Kahuku had subs in from the end of the first quarter but unfortunately even the backups scored while running the clock..

  28. RRFLbaby September 10, 2016 12:24 am

Uh, I did watch the GB vs SJB game. BG made adjustments at the half and it was all over for Bosco.

  29. RRFLbaby September 10, 2016 12:37 am

People continue to talk about an open division . Can someone please educate us as to what other state in the country has an open division for regular season games? i like this years state championship brackets cause its similar to what they do in Cali.

  30. Paper Crane September 10, 2016 1:38 am

@Hawaii Prep World; so for most points in a game in Oahu history, can we say that it’s between two different era, No Mercy Rule Era (before 2001) and the now Mercy Rule Era (after 2001); OK just saying like I believe them bookies would say there’s some point spread differences. No offense intended, again Mahalo for sharing Jerry.

  31. Jerry Campany September 10, 2016 2:03 am

No worries, Crane, as journalists we present the information and you interpret it any way you want to. Second-most points in a game after the mercy rule was implemented would be accurate, the interesting thing would be to compare McKinley last year to Radford this year (or to Honolulu Military, which got blown out by everybody).

But we all know that after 35-0 it just becomes a theater of the absurd anyway. Scoring by accident, if you will.

  32. Just Saying September 10, 2016 4:12 am

83-0. Just proves once again that Kahuku plays in a non competitive league. I feel sorry for the Radford kids and Kahuku’s admin should be ashamed of this poor sportsmanship displayed last night. Coach Tata what are you trying to prove? Karma is coming bruddah…

  33. 88 September 10, 2016 4:26 am

How would you have stopped 83 points from happening if you were the Kahuku coach? I mean was 30 yards passing for the ENTIRE game too much? Should they kneel the ball on offense every other series? I know, they should give the ball back on turnovers and award the home team the 3 defensive TDs Kahuku had. Please share.

  34. Red Raider 4 Life September 10, 2016 4:36 am

@ just saying and football fan,
wow no need be butt hurt, its just a game.. a game that Kahuku had SUBS in by the 1ST QUARTER!!
So who’s to blame if our 2nd, 3rd, 4th and waterboys get in and score? They practice with the 1st string all week, work hard and when they get the opportunity to step on the field, what you want Coach to tell them? Don’t run too fast? Don’t hit to hard? You guys for real?
Karma you say, you must have been second team players that did not get to see any playing time yeah. See if you came to Kahuku, you might have been able to play when we sub the cheer leaders in.

  35. TooMeke September 10, 2016 5:16 am

    2nd string in 1st Qtr.
    3rd string in 2nd Qtr.
Half the points scored by defense and special teams.
    99% running plays.
Snapped ball with less than 5 seconds on play clock.
Don’t know what else we could’ve done. Maybe punt on 1st downs to practice punting game?

We need a top division with ILH. This is ridiculous.

Going to Vegas next week!!!! Cheehooo! That will be a great experience and measuring stick. BG is no joke. They ain’t #1 by accident. Go get um boys!!

  36. Alpha September 10, 2016 6:24 am

I was at the Waianae McKinley game last year. Waianae was literally trying not to score, on a punt rtrn the Waianae returner was gone for a td but instead of scoring he runs out of bounds(3rd qtr). But you can’t help when the defense is not tackling, three plays later they score anyways….. I didn’t see the Kahuku game last nite but sometimes you just can’t help it.

  37. 87 September 10, 2016 6:25 am

lastnight StLouis blowed out Punahou, it was over in the 4th quarter and Tua sat. Whats the difference? Also there was no tackling in that game basically it was a pass league game

  38. Roll tide September 10, 2016 6:50 am

You can’t blame Kahuku for the lopsided score. It would have been more disrespectful to Radford if Kahuku stopped playing. The Radford team came back out after halftime to compete, that’s part of life, teaching the kids to face adversity no matter how bad the situation. Radford could have decided not to play the 2nd half the game was already out of hand by the 1st qtr. You just got to let the kids learn how to compete ,Radford never guit playing, so you should not expect Kahuku kids to stop playing.

  39. Just Saying September 10, 2016 7:03 am

@87, do the math, there’s a distinct difference between the Kahuku/Radford score vs. STL/Pun score. Sorry but there’s no way of defending 83-0 for any team at any level. Demoralizing for the Radford Rams and their alumni who just celebrated their #1 D2 championship in Hawaii. I’ve coached flag football teams before and when the score was out of reach the boys purposely would fumble or drop passes or QB threw interceptions so that the opponent would have a chance to score. The great thing about this is the kids wanted to do this because they felt bad for their bruddahs. Just very sad to see that Tata ran up the score and really proved nothing. Another Michigan vs. Hawaii debacle.

  40. 88 September 10, 2016 7:10 am

“the boys purposely would fumble or drop passes or QB threw interceptions so that the opponent would have a chance to score.” What! You need to EARN it. What the hell are you teaching your players bradah? Nothing in this world is given. You earn it. You need to stop coaching cause you are just setting these kids up for failure!

  41. Football Fan September 10, 2016 7:12 am

    @Red Raider 4 Life

Well let’s see if your mana will carryover into ur next game. U know that BG is overrated…. Max prep is a haole company that’s why local teams are never at the top spots… I say RR is better than them and should be ranked higher…. Don’t you agree? RR is bigger, stronger, and faster than BG right? That’s why my expectation is that RR should come home with the decisive win. I know I won’t be disappointed right?

  42. 88 September 10, 2016 7:31 am

Hey Football Fan, did someone from kahuku turn down your advances or something? So much animosity towards a team who will be representing our State against the #1 High School team in the land. Remember its 14 to 18 year old kids who will be playing the game and not us bloggers.

  43. Pay To Play September 10, 2016 7:32 am

I heard the RR left the starters in til the 4th. LMAO! Bruh….. That’s sad. And what’s more funny is there was a few RR coaches at the STL game. Worried much?? I would be too. LMAO!

  44. Kahuku90 September 10, 2016 7:34 am

@just saying were you at the game? Did you see how all the scores happened? Or did you just happen to wake up see the score?
There was no running up the score…you can’t help when there’s missed tackles, botched punts, fumbles after fumbles in Radford territory by the Radford team. Kahuku defense accounted for 28 pts!? Subs were in early! You can’t put the blame on the Kahuku boys or coaches. You expect the coaches to tell his team don’t tackle them, don’t hit them hard now, on a dive play just run 2 yards and fall down? Get real. If there is anyone to blame it’s the OIA for allowing this match up to happen in the first place.. Radford had a very nice run in Division 2 last season, but lost their head coach and some key players from that championship team. There is just no parity.
@football fan “Cocky” ? You have to have some when playing football. You should have seen some of the Radford players as they were warming up and right before kickoff. They were “cocky”…it’s their way of getting fired up. You think Gorman ain’t cocky? Go check out some of the tweets from their 5 star QB Tate Martell.. he was jaw jacking with Cedar Hill players. Come on brah…it’s the nature of the game. SMH.

  45. OHHREALLY September 10, 2016 7:35 am

Just sayin- your a damn clown if you think any team is gonna start throwing the game!! Stick to flag football because we don’t need anyone disrespecting the game like that!!! Again, kahuku had its reserves in at the start of the 2nd quarter and with a roster just over 55 players, that’s not enough to go 3 deep at each position.

“HEARD” key word…there were some starters return to the game…it’s called rotating. Subs come in subs come out..they need a break sometimes too. Kahuku has 55 players not 100…Subs get fatigue come out for a breather and go back in…come on Maan!

Worried? No….it’s called scouting. You don’t think they had coaches or scouts to watch the Kahuku game? All teams do it. Come on Maaaaaan!

  47. OHHREALLY September 10, 2016 7:45 am

Pay to play- that’s funny considering the fact that I see both coaches ” St. Louis & punahou” at kahuku games all year long… Does that mean they scared?? Idiot!!

  48. Kahuku90 September 10, 2016 7:45 am

How do you stop a high powered, high octane, scoring machine? Hit em with a suffocating defense.

Hard to hide.from.when I got a nephew on the team. “C’MMMON MAN’! 1st team came out in the 4th qtr. It doesn’t matter how you score or what “plays” you run. SHOWING RESPECT & CLASS is something that is taught & you either get it or not.. You dont have to explain your “99% running plays”, you guys do that every game. So why explain something that you already do?
Last week STL could of put up 100pts on Iolani but they didn’t The starters were out in the 2nd qtr & the young boys got their PT. And Iolani is a far more better team than Radford. I guess that might be the difference. TEAMS GETTING MORE CREDIT FOR PLAYING IN A WEAK LEAGUE. Blame your Coach, he’s gonna eat some humble pie this season.

  50. Pay To Play September 10, 2016 8:27 am

    ” High Powered High Octane”?
LMAO! I hope you talking about your fans not your offense. Make a correction on it & rename it to “Pop Warner Offense” because your athletes cannot read defenses & comprehend what a “check down” is.

You gotta be kidding me! “High Powered High Octane”? Your offense? Really? That was last night at the stadium.
