FOURTH QUARTER

Pac-Five strikes for a 58-yard TD pass from Johnson to Ihu, who broke about three different tackles with some shifty moves and then sped down the sideline outracing the defense. 40-27 after the two-point conversion with 1:37 remaining. Johnson 23-41, 352 yards, 4 TD (1 rush), 0 INT.

Damien over 300 yards rushing and gets it to the 10. Faufata-Pedrina’s fifth TD pass of the game is the third to Apiki. 7-yard TD makes it 40-19. 2:27 left.

Pac-Five punts fourth-and-20 from its 10 after Lundberg got his second sack for the Damien defense.

Borges fields the short punt and return it 10 yards to the 40. Pac-Five only nets 8 yards on the punt. Might as well have gone for it. Kapea with a 20-yard run to the 15 but a holding call brings it back to the 43. Pac-Five stops the next three runs and Damien punts with 6:47 remaining.

Block in back wipes out a return to midfield. Instead they start on their 6. Johnson hits Ulufale for 15 yards and Matthew Lee for 11. Deep ball is on the money to Ihu but he drops it. Fell right in his lap. Might have been six. Johnson has really thrown some nice balls. Fourth-and-10 though and Pac-Five punts with 9:18 remaining down two scores.

Damien faces a third-and-10 at its 49 to start the fourth. Pass complete to Livingston-Lopez for 9 yards. Looked like a terrible spot. Should have been given forward progress but instead it’s fourth-and-1 at the Pac-Five 42. Faufata-Pedrina sneaks for 2 yards and the first down. Third-and-6 and they have to hurry the snap with 1 second on the play clock. BOOM! James Livingston-Lopez gets behind the defense for a 36-yard TD pass from Faufata-Pedrina, who has thrown four TD passes. 34-19, 10:27.

THIRD QUARTER

Wolfpack drive starts from the 20 with 2:08 remaining in the third. Johnson now at 209 passing yards. Johnson hits Uechi for 22 yards and then Kaloa for 14 yards over the middle but he takes a huge hit from DB JT White and fumbles. Damien recovers on the 49.

Damien mixing up different running looks to get gains of 4, 17, and 9 yards. Shawn Borges with his first reception for 5 yards. A holding call and three straight incomplete passes kill the drive and Damien will punt from its 47.

DIME ALERT. Ryan Johnson escapes the rush and throws a perfect ball way downfield for Grey Ihu, who runs under to make the 49-yard TD catch. 28-19, 4:29. Second missed XP for Pac-Five though.

Faufata-Pedrina runs it three times for 3 yards each. Fourth-and-1 on the Damien 17 and Monarchs will punt. Second three-and-out to start half.

A 30-yard pass across midfield to Ihu is wiped out by an offensive pass interference penalty. Third-and-17 and Johnson gets rid of it just before getting hit and fires a strike down the sideline to Kaloa for 50 yards to the Damien 33. It’s bad news after that though as Pac-Five has a holding penalty and a false start to make it first-and-30. Nice punt pins Damien at its 8.

Pac-Five forces a three-and-out to start second half.

Damien drives into Pac-Five territory as White has a 10-yard reception and a 27-yard run to the 23 but Pac-Five DB Kaikea Gonsales intercepts a pass with 30 seconds remaining at the 5.

Wolfpack start on their 38. They have gotten some solid returns on kicks. Johnson finds Ihu for 7 yards on third-and-5 and the Wolfpack have their second first down into Damien territory. Johnson with back-to-back 13-yard pass to Travis Kaloa and AJ Ulufale. Kaloa makes the catch but can’t keep a foot in in the end zone to set up third-and-13 from the 25. Josiah Medal is in on a sack on third down but a roughing the passer on fourth down gives Pac-Five a first down at the 13. Jett Uechi 13-yard TD pass from Johnson. 28-13, 3:44.

Monarchs move right down the field but a holding penalty negates a 24-yard TD run by White. Faufata-Pedrina had a nice 18-yard run on third-and-2, powering through a tackle. Third-and-15 and Faufata-Pedrina rolls to his right buying time and then hits Arecchi for 22 yards. Now a 7-yard TD pass to Apiki to make it 28-7, 7:12.

Pac-Five first-and-10 on the Damien 14. Two penalties by the Monarchs move it to the 4 and QB Ryan Johnson sneaks twice, scoring on a 1-yard TD run. 21-7, 11:08, Q2.

FIRST QUARTER

Untimed down after a long kick return and a personal foul is a 14-yard pass from Johnson to Kaloa.

Another bad punt that might have been tipped and Damien will start inside the Wolfpack 20 again at the 16. Akila Arecchi 10-yard TD pass from Faufata-Pedrina. 21-0, 04, Q1.

Ihu with a 7-yard reception on first down but then two more incomplete passes forces a fourth consecutive three-and-out.

Kapea rips off a 31-yard run. Wolfpack defense gets three stops as Kapea is thrown down for a loss of 10 yards by Kekahi Tam. FG try is no good from 31.

Grey Ihu with a 44-yard return and Pac-Five has nice starting field position at the 50. Ryan Johnson starts at QB for Pac-Five. Damien sends a blitz on the first play and Chase Lundberg gets a big sack of Johnson. Two incomplete passes and a punt.
