9:32: Liberty is driving. A targeting penalty against Mililani brings the ball to the Trojans’ 40.

9:26: A pass interference penalty against Liberty pushes the ball to Patriots 10. On the next play, Kim runs around right end for a 10-yard touchdown. McGehee kicks the extra point. MILILANI 34, LIBERTY 22, 3:23 left in fourth quarter.

9:23: Agbayani hits Gibson with a 18-yard pass to the Liberty 22.

9:21: Trojans are driving. Less than 5:00 to go now.

9:15: Liberty faces a fourth and 8 from the 13. In comes Fedor and he kicks a 36-yard field goal. MILILANI 27, LIBERTY 22, 7:29 left in fourth quarter.

9:12: On a third and 1, Tufele picks up 7 yards for Liberty. First down. A personal-foul penalty against Mililani moves the ball to the Trojans’ 15.

9:11: Corey Hebert makes a 24-yard catch and run of a Stoneking pass. Victor Epstein then catches a 13-yard Stoneking pass. Ball is at the Mililani 45.

9:03: After the touchdown, Mililani starting right guard Jacob Tuatagaloa is ejected for throwing punches.

9:01: Two plays later, Alcover takes a wildcat snap and goes around right end for a 3-yard touchdown. McGehee kicks the extra point. MILILANI 27, LIBERTY 19, 11:52 left in fourth quarter.

8:58: A Liberty kick returner fields the ball and steps out of bounds at the 4. Two plays later, Kiai Ramos recovers an errant pitch for the Trojans. Mililani ball at the Patriots’ 4.

8:54: On another third-down play, Agbayani hits Gibson with on a post pattern for 30-yard touchdown. It’s Mililani’s first lead of the game. McGehee adds the extra point. MILILANI 21, LIBERTY 19, 1:32 left in third quarter.

8:48: On third and 12, Agbayani avoids the rush and gets off a 19-yard pass to Gibson to the Liberty 26.

8:46: A roughing the passer penalty against Liberty moves the Mililani ball to the Patriots’ 43.

8:42: The Trojans’ defense stiffens. Liberty punts. Trojans ball at their own 39.

8:38: The Mililani offensive line, which has been huge in the run game all night, does some heavy-duty pass blocking. Agbayani finds Raysen Motoyama over the middle for a 34-yard gain. Three plays later, Alcover follows Sammy Semeatu’s blocking into the end zone for a 1-yard touchdown. McGehee kicks the extra point. LIBERTY 19, MILILANI 14, 7:34 left in third quarter.

8:30: Trojans face a third and 1 from the 35. Encroachment on Liberty gives Mililani a first down at the Trojans’ 40.

8:27: Mililani will get the ball to start the second half.

8:11: Second quarter ends.

8:10: Dillon Fedor kicks a 39-yard field goal. LIBERTY 19, MILILANI 7, 0:09 left in first half.

8:09: Patriots bog down and are about to attempt a field goal.

8:05: Bernard catches a short pass from Stoneking. He breaks an ankle tackle near the line of scrimmage and gets to the outside for 62 yards. The Trojans’ Vaisen Viloria makes a saving tackle at the Mililani 17.


8:01: Gibson gets open briefly down the right sideline and Agbayani hits him with a 21-yard touchdown pass. Gibson leaps for the ball against single coverage with a safety nearby. Liam McGehee kicks the extra point. LIBERTY 16, MILILANI 7, 2:22 left in second quarter.

7:58: Alcover rushes for 12 yards and another first down. Ball is at the Liberty 25.

7:56: Agbayani leaves the pocket and fires a pass to Kanoa Gibson for a 27-yard gain to the Liberty

7:54: A Bam Amina sack on Stoneking allows Mililani to stop the Patriots, who punt it away.

7:49: On that fourth-down play, Agbayani tries to escape the rush and is stripped by Liberty’s Izaiah-Brennen Halmos. Mililani recovers, but loses the ball on downs.

7:48: It’s fourth down again. Fourth and 7 from the 20. Mililani calls timeout to decide what to do.

7:47: Trojans succeed on another fourth-down play. Kim picks up 3 yards on fourth and 1 rom the 26.

7:43: On fourth and 3 from the 50, Raysen Motoyama catches an 11-yard pass from Agbayani for the first down.

7:42: First quarter ends.

7:41: Trojans have looked good running the ball and they continue to do so.

7:39: Micah Kim carries three times for 16 yards. Trojans ball at the 50.

7:34: Donte Bowers Jr. steps in front of a Trojans receiver on an out route on the sidlines, intercepts an Agbayani pass and returns it 27 yards for a touchdown. Bowers runs home the 2-point conversion. LIBERTY 16, MILILANI 0, 2:08.

7:29: Edward Gastelum runs a quick seam route and Stoneking gives him a quick pass. Mililani was caught blitzing and the speedy Gastelum breaks an ankle tackle and is off to the races for a 57-yard catch-and-run touchdown. Germie Bernard tosses a 2-point conversion pass to Hampton in an unconventional lineup. LIBERTY 8, MILILANI 0, 2:57 left in first quarter.

7:26: Maurice Hampton catches Stoneking passes of 13 and 11 yards. Jared Tufele picks up 3 yards

7:19: Mililani quarterback Brendyn Agbayani throws his first pass on a third-down play. It’s incomplete. Trojans are punting.

7:15: Trojans running back Jasiah Alcover picks up 13 and then 9 yards and again for 7 behind an explosive offensive line. Ball is at the Mililani 41.

7:14: Patriots drive stalls. They punt. Mililani ball at its 12.

7:12: Byron Viloria catches a 14-yard Stoneking pass. Ball at the Liberty 36.

7:10: Patriots start at the 20, with Kanyon Stoneking as the quarterback.

Pregame notes:

7:09: Liberty does the haka after the coin toss, with the Trojans’ kicking team on the field.

7:07: Mililani wins the toss and defers to the second half. Liberty elects to receive. Trojans are defending the mauka end zone.

7:05: In 2015, Liberty defeated Mililani 76-53.

7:04: National anthem and Hawaii Pono’i have been played. Mililani is singing its alma mater. Coin toss will be next.

6:56: “7-Nation Army” by the White Stripes was also on the pregame playlist.

6:34: Head coaches Rod York of the Trojans and Rich Muraco of the Patriots are chatting on the Mililani logo at midfield. “Enter Sandman” by Metallica is playing.

6:28: The Trojans just showed up on the south side end zone with flags, wearing dark brown with yellow trim and white helmets.

6:27: Muggy night. Partly cloudy.


6:26: Liberty has been warming up on the field since at least 6 p.m. The Patriots have the old white Pat the Patriot logos on their helmets, wearing white jerseys with red and blue trim and blue pants.

    @ Lou what you talking about DB’s they got some of the best DB’s in the state. Stop hating. #3 and #13 are no joke on defense. Those Db’s knows how to wrap up and tackle. So I don’t know what games you watching.
