9:09: The Kahuku defense comes through again. Kana Fonoimoana with a big-time third down sack, then Mana Fonoimoana picks off the fourth down pass. The Red Raiders take one knee to run out the clock. 21-13 is your final. What a game.
9:05: Kamehameha appears to have made a big gain to the 9 but it’s negated by an offensive pass interference call. Ball now at the Kahuku 41 with 1:37 left.
9:03: Kamehameha now at the Kahuku 29 with 2:17 left. Red Raiders call timeout.
9:00: WOW. JUST WOW. KAMEHAMEHA GETS THE BALL BACK AT MIDFIELD AFTER A FUMBLE. 2:57 LEFT TO TIE IT.
8:59: No onside kick for Kamehameha. The Warriors will bet on their defense and kick it deep. Kahuku gets it back on their own 20 after the touchback.
8:57: WHOA. Clemente takes it 80 YARDS TO THE HOUSE UNTOUCHED for Kamehameha. The Warriors call their last timeout to draw up a two-point conversion. It’s no good on an incomplete pass, Kamehameha trails 21-13 with 3:09 left and no timeouts. An onside kick is is coming, most likely.
8:54: Requilman’s 41-yard field goal attempt is wide left. Kamehameha gets the ball back on its own 20 with 3:23 remaining and one timeout left.
8:49: Three straight sacks for Kahuku, they are relentless. Kamehameha sets up to punt and a bad snap sets Kahuku up at the Kamehameha 4 with 4:27 left. Any type of score here pretty much puts it away.
8:44: Kamehameha’s defense does its job, forcing a quick three-and-out. The Warriors get the ball back on their own 39 with 5:57 left down 21-7.
8:41: Kamehameha decides not to try an onside kick, and Rezentes boots a touchback instead.
8:38: Kamehameha is on the board. A long pass from Keone to Skyler Ramos sets up a 15-yard touchdown run from Kawika Clemente. Preston Rezentes‘ PAT is good and the Warriors are back in this thing, trailing 21-7 with 8:31 left.
8:32: Three-and-out for Kahuku. Kamehameha gets the ball back on its own 35 with 10:57 left. The Warriors probably have to score here to keep it competitive.
FOURTH QUARTER
8:29: End of the third. Kahuku holds a commanding 21-0 lead. Look for them to keep running the ball in the fourth.
8:27: Kamehameha is forced to punt after a Kaufusi sack on third down. After a touchback, Kahuku gets the ball with five seconds left in the third.
8:25: Evan Rau recovers a fumble at the Kahuku 23 with 2:19 left in the third.
8:24: The Kahuku defense continues to swarm the Warriors. Kamehameha punts again, and the Red Raiders get the ball back on their own 32 with 2:28 left in the third.
8:19: Fonoimoana-Vaomu scores on a 10-yard rush. The PAT is good and Kahuku stretches its lead to 21-0 with 4:23 left in the third.
8:13: The Kahuku defense is really starting to shine. Pasi’s second interception of the day gives the Red Raiders the ball back on their own 37 with 8:24 left in the third.
8:07: TOUCHDOWN KAHUKU. Frisco Aveau jumps a screen and takes it 56 yards to the house. Kahuku doubles its lead after Requilman’s PAT, 14-0 with 9:28 left in the third.
8:04: Quick three-and-out for Kahuku. Kamehameha will start from midfield with 10:30 left in the third.
8:02: Kahuku will start the second half from its own 20 after a touchback.
THIRD QUARTER
7:43: Kamehameha runs out the clock. Halftime. Kahuku leads 7-0 and will receive to start the second half.
7:40: TOUCHDOWN KAHUKU. Zealand Matagi punches it in from one yard out. Adam Requilman‘s PAT is good and the Red Raiders lead 7-0 with 30 seconds left in the first half.
7:37: Kahuku continues to slowly and methodically wear Kamehameha down with its run game. After Fonoimoana-Vaomu picks up a first down at the Kamehameha 1, the Warriors call a timeout with 59 seconds left in the first half.
7:31: Masi Pasi with an interception for Kahuku. Red Raiders get the ball back at the Kamehameha 49 with 4:12 left in the first half.
7:25: Kahuku can’t pick up another first and punts. The Warriors get the ball back on their own 20 with 5:20 left.
7:21: Kahuku’s offense looks like the Red Raiders of years past, grounding and pounding in the elephant formation. Kahuku has a fresh set of downs at the Kamehameha 45, 7:10 left in the second quarter.
7:17: The Warriors can’t make the most out of their new life and punt from their own 42. Kahuku gets the ball back on its own 35 with 9:32 left in the first half, still scoreless.
7:13: Kamehameha quarterback Kiai Keone is intercepted by Ace Kaufusi, but the referees call a fumble on Kaufusi and Kamehameha gets the ball back. Questionable call, as it appeared Kaufusi was down.
SECOND QUARTER
7:10: End of the first, still scoreless. It went by quick, as both teams are leaning on the run early on.
7:08: Sophomore Tiger Adolpho, who has an offer from Hawaii, takes his turn at quarterback for Kahuku. He leads the Red Raiders down the field but the team turns it over on downs at the Kamehameha 20 with 24 seconds left in the first.
7:03: The Red Raiders are eating up a ton of clock and have only thrown it once so far. Now on the Kamehameha 26 with less than three minutes left in the first.
6:54: After getting pinned on their own 1, the Red Raiders pick up a first down but not much else. Mana Fonoimoana-Vaomu takes the first snaps at quarterback for Kahuku. He’s also the punter, and after causing a Kamehameha fumble, the Red Raiders get the ball back at the Kamehameha 45.
6:46: The Warriors pick up a first down but can’t get another. After a punt, the Red Raiders will start off from their own 1 after a very nice punt.
6:43: Kamehameha gains three yards on its first play but Tanner Moku is down. He gets off the field on his own, however.
6:40: Kamehameha will start things off from its own 28.
6:38: Kahuku wins the toss and defers to the second half. Kamehameha will receive to start the game.
FIRST QUARTER
6:37 p.m.: Here we go. A beautiful night on the North Shore. Kahuku won the junior varsity game 35-7. Varsity game kicking off shortly.

Miss call by the officials. That should not be a touchdown. That ball was at his feet before he cross the end zone.

I ain’t going to lie, that was a missed call by the officials plus one of the interceptions. Was a nice 80 yard run against mostly reserves…but, it probably would’ve worked against the first team cause it was perfectly executed and Big Reds D tends to over pursue.
Both teams have a good base to work on.

I seen the 2nd Team Defense go in and than Clemente takes it 80 yards to the house. They were only up 14 & they put in the reserves?
Which was more confusing was seeing Kamehameha going for 2 right after instead of the PAT?
Kahuku First Defense played solid the whole night. Kamehameha Defense played well for the most part too.
