  3. Pun Alum 95 November 20, 2016 7:47 am

The final score was 30-14. In my opinion the game could have been a little worse. STL receiver dropped the ball in the end zone which turned out to be a FG instead of a TD. And some interesting play calling after having the ball first down on the 1 yard line with 3 straight pass plays. Most teams would try to run 2 times. And with Tua at QB there is a good chance they can get 1 yard. Kahuku had an amazing defense all year, but today they seemed a step slow. I guess that could be attributed to STL.

And someone on this blog is a very angry person. Kind of ruins it for everyone if you ask me. Great job to all the HS kids for completing another very exciting season. I liked the open format and I think they got it right even with so many people second guessing the HHSAA.

  4. Chloropicrin November 20, 2016 8:06 am

“NO blame Soljay. Braddah plays behind one clueless OC who probably gets his plays from the Ask Madden menu lol”

@AOK this made me spit out my coffee. Lmao. Waianae must go through the same talent agency for OC’s.

  5. KaiTae November 20, 2016 8:10 am

Everybody just relax its not like Hawaii football is good. Ya’ll are behind the game so everyone kai tae ok? Hahahaha Thanks St. Louis for proving my point Kahuku and everyone there is OVER RATED and play like SIKO.

  6. Chloropicrin November 20, 2016 8:12 am

Amazing though maiava is only a freshman, this loss will only make him and the younger red raiders better. A waaaay to early look at next year’s top teams…no particular order, Kahuku, Mililani, Kapolei, Punahou and Kamehameha. I think St. Louis and Waianae will be on the fringes because they return excellent defensive personnel but will be breaking in new QB’s. The other 6 I mentioned will have returning QB’s that should make for a record break year.

  7. TheHeartlessPrick November 20, 2016 8:19 am

Glad to see all theses RR supporters in silent mode after a game that you can’t complain about.

  8. grabum.bythe.puppy.gate November 20, 2016 8:20 am

Tua Man closes out as a winner and a champion.!!!
To Noa, Issac and their “next man up” substitutes, Jacob Tobias and the rest of the TEAM, you have the inaugural Open Championship to carry with you for the rest of your life.
Coach Lee, Coach Vinny and the rest of the staff MAHALO…

  10. Jeezy33 November 20, 2016 8:47 am

Awwww… poor 88. what’s the matter? can’t take the abuse you like to dish out to others? Always running your mouth and insulting other teams and kids and people with your “RR4L!” crap. LOL

eat some humble pie, 88. eat it.

  11. overrated November 20, 2016 8:55 am

eh, guys. remember when had a bunch of kahuku people posting here about how the whole ILH league is overrated because punahou lost to one good kapolei team? And every arrogant red raider fan here was talking all this smack about how just because that one game, the ENTIRE ILH and punahou has been overrated for years and years? And how Kahuku was going murder st louis because st louis too soft, ILH league is flag football, nobody ever seen one running game like kahuku?

So what, then, 88 and anywaays and toomeke and whoevers? If ILH is overrated then Kahuku must be the MOST overrated in the entire state, yeah? You guys going admit that?

Oh no. Wait. I forget. You guys going just whine about recruiting.

I not even from private school and I no more kids going there. My kids playing for public school, but you Kahuku fans in here who no more class or humility need to stop running your mouth so much.

    Farrington c/o ’99

  12. Simple Simon November 20, 2016 9:03 am

Dang Tua was the difference maker with his feet. They could not get a handle on him running. I was wrong. The ILH does belong, but only St Louis lol Next year, they’ll be weak again. So sad.

  13. 88 is da fool November 20, 2016 9:22 am

88 will now tell Jeezy33 to stop making up screen names. Everyone they thinks 88 is one fag or a puss is da same guy. He’s so predictable. But when u get 1 small kine brain hard for some up with new stuff.

  14. Jeezy33 November 20, 2016 9:30 am

What’s sadder is that people like simple simon can’t give credit where credit is due. Your words don’t matter, simpleton simon. eat your humble pie along with jeezy. Eat it, son.

  15. Chloropicrin November 20, 2016 9:49 am

@overrrated Kahuku cannot whine about recruiting because Tata is already on the trail, that Siuaki blazed. Everyone knows that they too recruit like the ILH, but out of state / country. You watch cause of Kahuku the OIA will make a rule that one needs to sit out if they are transferring from out of state too. Haha. That will affect true out of state transfers, like the military kids. Don’t be surprised.

  16. Alpha November 20, 2016 10:35 am

Congrats @ilh. . . The lone ilh supporter talking all last wk. You got one, awesome season. . . We got this nxt year OIA. . . Tuaman is beast. . . But pls, if st louis wins another one can the kids make sure the gaterade warm, Coach Lee almost caught pneumonia last night lol…. Tupu was gona slap a kid lol….. peace out yall…

  17. Pun Alum 95 November 20, 2016 10:42 am

I am sorry Simple Simon but there are many teams that belong from the ILH, STL, Punahou, and Kamehameha. You can also add Iolani. They beat a tough Campbell team. We can also say the many OIA teams belong too. Punahou beat STL which no team in Hawaii did this year. STL beat Kahuku condignly last night. That doesn’t mean NO OIA teams belong. That is just very ignorant to say. For one night Kapolei was the better team than Punahou. Just like for one night STL was better than Kahuku. Losing these games does not mean Punahou or Kahuku do not belong. I would like to think more of the adults on here would be more supportive of the kids playing.

  18. Red Raider 4 Life November 20, 2016 11:37 am

    @ TheHeartlessPrick

Wasn’t in Silent mode, see my earlier post congratulating St. Louis? No excuses, got beat by a better team last night.

    @ overrated

Admit to what? being known for good football? Yes, Big Red is known for good football. Are we overrated? Maybe, but that would be in the eyes of the beholder, I always believe anyone could lose to anybody on any given day. Hows your Gov’s doing with all those State Championships you all won by the way??

To all those bashing Kahuku fans, try and read the first page of these comments before you run your mouth or type all-big-body on the internet trying to prove your manhood folks. Unlike others who call Kahuku football out week in and week out and then no show up after, a bunch of us Kahuku fan’s already posted and congratulated the Brotherhood of Saint Louis in earlier comments, learn to read…. and comprehend…. then respond, you get further in life that way.

  19. ServingHumblePie November 20, 2016 12:16 pm

All this talk the other night about teams getting a Trophy for “participating”, no respect given for winning a State Championship, so sad really! Humble pie is being served big time! Did your beloved Red Raiders get a trophy for participating? Maybe a medal? Much respect to the faithful Red Raider fans who show up game in and game out, none for the “ANALysts” here. No system will please everyone, thank you HHSAA for making the dreams of the ones that count (THE ATHLETES) come true. Congratulations to ALL student athletes! Until next season, ALOHA!!!

  20. Kailua Boys November 20, 2016 12:29 pm

This is making me hopeful that we have an open regular season division next year. The best of the OIA and ILH in one division.

Kahuku is obviously head and shoulders above the rest of the OIA and seeing the big 3 face each other in the ILH every week is not fun especially after the 3rd or 4th time lol

Congrats Tuaman on the victory. That might be the best QB we ever see from this state.

  21. Pun Alum 95 November 20, 2016 12:46 pm

@ Red Raider for life, I don’t think the comments were meant for you. Like I wrote before, there are many wonderful families in Kahuku like there are all over our wonderful island. I have had the privilege to have some great friendships with the Ah You’s, Heffernan’s, Faamoe’s, etc.

However, and we don’t know if these posters are really from your area, but there are a bunch of guys who claim to be from the Laie/Kahuku are who really fail to show any humility and class. They are aggressive and use foul language on this site. Like I mentioned before, I wouldn’t be surprised if these posters were not even from the Kahuku community but just want to give the perception that they are to generate interest in these blogs or ant to start trouble.

  22. overrated November 20, 2016 12:49 pm

funny thing though, @red raider 4 life, the kahuku fans who are the loudest here aren’t the classy ones that all of a sudden showed up. it’s the ones like 88, anywaays, simple simon, toomeke, 808 rr4l, simple simon and those guys who just trash everybody, trash other schools, and carry themselves with no humility and class. they the ones giving all you guys one bad name.

i dont think kahuku is overrated. but i also don’t think ILH is overrated too. get plenty solid teams in all leagues but some of your boys posting here need to humble themselves because was getting tiring reading all their pilau crap on the blog comments. and now that kahuku lost, they nowhere to be found.

  23. overrated November 20, 2016 12:53 pm

so red raider 4 life, maybe you should read all the other comments that your boys made and recognize how they running their mouth and acting all big body and trying for prove their manhood on the internet day in and day out until this loss. police your own boys because they making you guys look REAL bad right now and have been for long time already.

  24. Pun Alum 95 November 20, 2016 1:02 pm

Unfortunately I have to agree with OVERRATED, there are some bad apples making a great community such as Kahuku look bad. I feel very sad. There are wonderful kids working hard out there. Instead of being solid role model to elevate the kids out there, some guys come on here and are very foul with their comments.

  25. TheHeartlessPrick November 20, 2016 1:18 pm

Call it “classy” call it not “classy”.
Kahuku shouldn’t have played Gorman & they for sure hatched to be the most OVERRATED team in the state & even the national rankings.
Don’t blame the refs when your offense can’t adjust nor respond. All that trash talk of how “great” Kahuku was is just a fairy tale that never was.

  26. 731grown November 20, 2016 1:41 pm

Great game the boys bad coaching. Im a rr4l but i hope sol jay looks for another school to play . he got a scholarship offer to michigan and im pretty sure theyd want him to be able to trow well…so much things to say but no sense the past is the past no sense driving a car looking only through the rear view mirror.heres to next year…God bless u all

  27. TopDoggs November 20, 2016 1:43 pm

Don’t send boys to do a mans job especially when you are going up against the men of the ILH. IQ over DNA all the time. Enjoy your OIA dominance while we keep the Koa trophy where it belongs for another 14 years.

  28. al November 20, 2016 2:52 pm

sol jay won’t play at the next level as a quarterback if he stays at kahuku. it’s been a whole season and he hasn’t developed as a passer because kahuku all he does is hand off the ball and occasionally goes for a qb keeper. I’d love to see him go to kapolei and see what june jones could do with him or out at saint louis with vinnie pasos and the lee brothers.

  29. Oia#1 November 20, 2016 3:06 pm

Man, congratz to st Louis. But why did the OC for kahuku switch to kesi? Brown and vakapuna was fine! I thought i was watching waianae play with some of the play calls going on! Offense was not performing well, maiava definitely has alot to learn. Renaud wouldve fared much better at the pass. Penalties were oht of character for kahuku. As far as kahuku defense, st louis just had to many weapons. The main one was tuas legs, had he been more on target with his passes kahuku wouldve gotten slaughtered. He seemed to be more arrogant lately but i feel that gave him the condidence to perform at a very high level, he ran hard and played viscious in this game, awesome job crusaders!

  30. 88 November 20, 2016 3:53 pm

Kahuku being called overrated is one the dumbest things I have ever read on this blog. That is straight up envy and jealousy by a lot of you posers waiting for Kahuku to fail. St. Louis won the game and was the better team that night. Period. Loseing doesn’t make last years Champs overrated. The difference between Kahuku fans and you clowns on this blog is we don’t have to waite for the outcome of a game to decide weather we support our kids or not. We support them from the beginning. You clowns waite untill the game is decided than all of a sudden you want to be vocal. Once again congratulations to St. Louis for winning this year and to ILH and LeeBoy. Looking forward to next year.

Back to reality is the word, St. Louis punched them in the mouth, and kahuku never expected it, they thought they was all high and mighty, untouchable, supposedly the best defense in Hawaii ever, lol, I disagree with that, bottom line they play nobody on the regular season and walk into the tournament , year in and year out and all they gotta do is play one mistake free , everything go there way type of game in the state championship , and that’s what been happening with them, put them with St. Louis punahou, kamehameha week in week out , they never go undefeated especially with that Mickey Mouse offense, people from the mainland was laughing when they saw the gourmet game, they said is that your state champions that represent Hawaii with that style of offense, lol, shame, no secret with kahuku , no strategy no gameplanning , it’s just we’re this big and your that small and we goin run u over that’s it, they got the big boys to do it, but when you play private schools , totally different they outsmart the big and supposedly strong

  32. Horse cruelty November 20, 2016 4:11 pm

To all u terds in other comunities flying kahuku flags shame on u!

  33. rrforlifebaby November 20, 2016 4:13 pm

@topdoggs. enjoy it while it lasts. the same logic you’re using can just as well
be used against last years St Louis squad.
Congrats to this years Crusader team. Just like 2010, took another talented senior qb for you folks to pull it off. You must be smoking some really good stuff if you think St Louis or any other team will win 14 straight titles. It’s a new era, Big Red is hungry for 9 and many more, Crusaders are Happy to win #4. If the pattern holds true, we’ll be celebrating again soon, good luck in 2023. lol

  34. 88 November 20, 2016 4:18 pm

Yup, they sure got out smarted last year. And again in 2011 and 2012. Kahuku gets out smarted so much they have the most HSSA State Trophies. You win and you learn. Last year Tagavailoa learned. This year he won and we learned.

  35. TheHeartlessPrick November 20, 2016 4:37 pm

Now these fools reaching for some relevance. They reaching all the way back to last year, 2010 & 2011. They counting trophies but left this years trophy behind.
If you could see the reality of last night’s game. Kahuku got out coached, was outmatched on every aspect but their special teams & couldn’t adjust to anything. The “DB U” was renamed to “M.I.A U”. You got a fullback playing Safety next to a true freshman at CB. Did Kahuku think they were playing Radford again? RR defense was stuck in the mud all game.

  36. 88 November 20, 2016 4:45 pm

Out coached? Yes. In the words of our HC ” Players win games. Coaches lose them.” Out matched? Now your reaching. Game came down to one play. That one play in 4th quarter changed everything. Our kids and coaches will learn from it and be better for it.

  37. TopDoggs November 20, 2016 4:47 pm

You guys kept talking when you beat Kapolei and thought I dissapeared. Nope, I just let you all enjoy your OIA dominance. Well you guys got creamed by a real team and are still posting but with a different tone, like the kind where your tails are tucked between your legs. I hope your humble pie tastes good and dont worry about next year we always got QUALITY ballers ready to step up not Elephant hole pluggers with no IQ. I like Kahukus future please do not change a thing especially at QuarterBack and that will guarantee another four years of the TOPDOGGS on top!

  38. Joe November 20, 2016 4:49 pm

Heartless prick , these guys don’t know , talking about trophies , they forget prep bowl is the state championship lol, they will never accomplish what St. Louis did and never come close to it, what these people don’t understand is that St. Louis is the reason why kahuku got out on the map, they forget they won like 4 state championships in the last seconds squeezing ass, they the most luckiest team in Hawaii, again, they playing weak schools, week in week out and leaving there starters in all the way, lucky coach cal wasn’t ignorant cause saints supposed to score one more at the end lol, overrated yes, big time, kahuku D never know what to do last night when St. Louis amassed 400 plus total offense against the supposedly great D, lol reality check suckas, u guys got a long more way to go to accomplish or even come close to St. Louis dominating Hawaii football cheehuuu

  39. 88 is da fool November 20, 2016 5:00 pm

Jackass (88), you did overrate Kahuku. You said dey were the best team and dey would beat St. Louis. No one said dey not good. Kahuku fans your tears are delicious right now lol

  41. TheHeartlessPrick November 20, 2016 5:09 pm

    Outmatched / Mismatched:

RR had a fullback playing Safety & a true freshman playing on same side. MISMATCH

STL Qb clears the line of scrimmage, no spy.

No identify on offense, runs spread formation only to run the ball on 3-4 defense. 3rd & long offense is nonexistent.

  42. 88 November 20, 2016 5:22 pm

Dumb@$$ they won 23 straight games against teams from Hawaii. That includes every one from winless Radford and Waipahu to the 3 headed Monster Mililani team and Cal Lees St. Louis squad. That is not overrated dip shet. Thats what you call hard.

  43. 4Life November 20, 2016 5:22 pm

Congratulations Crusaders. You guys played a great game and we didn’t have our best one. Lots of mistakes, but that’s the way the cookie crumbles some times. Enjoy it for the next 364 days. We’re 1 and 1 I see it. Catch you next season.

  44. rrforlifebaby November 20, 2016 5:31 pm

lol. too funny, we reaching back to last year and 2011 and 2012, and Yet, look who keeps talking about the Prep Bowl era.

  46. Chloropicrin November 20, 2016 5:44 pm

One thing was clear last night was St. Louis’s speed. Last year’s Kahukus defensive speed, especially on the DLine was what won them the game.

  47. Joe November 20, 2016 5:47 pm

Lol ya they won 23 straight games in Hawaii 22 oia 1 ILH , that says it all weak ass schedule

  48. TheHeartlessPrick November 20, 2016 5:52 pm

RR defensive speed was equivalent to moving around in concrete

  49. 88 is da fool November 20, 2016 5:56 pm

So wat u sayin iz over 23 game Kahuku won dem all and beat only 1 ILH team St. Louis in last years title game. So wat u sayin is da OIA not dat good den? Brah ur math not dat good. Beatin up aiea radford moanalua and otha overmatched teams is impressive? Kefe ese.

  50. Joe November 20, 2016 6:03 pm

Put it this way, iolani smashed all those schools including Campbell, not beat, but smash , poor thing they went 0-7 regular season cause they play puns, crusaders, and warriors twice , kahuku plays nobody bottom line , Mickey Mouse offense running over smaller schools that’s all buddy, know football inside out before u just look at #s, kefe lol
