GAME NIGHT 10/5: Farrington/Saint Louis

Saint Louis getting playing time for a lot of the roster and Logan Kalawaia breaks loose for 57 yards. The Crusaders take three knees and that’ll do it.

On fourth-and-1, Farrington lines up to punt but Samsen Tanuvasa takes the short snap and picks up 27 yards for the Governors’ second first down of the night. Farrington’s first advance into Saint Louis territory ends with a mishandled snap for a loss of 10 back to the Govs’ 45 and they punt.


Farrington goes three and out. The third quarter ends with Chandan Sappal completing a 6-yard pass on his first snap of the night. Crusaders drive to the Farrington 23, Alexander Bianco, who is alternating with Sappal, keeps it around the left side and scores. TOUCHDOWN SAINT LOUIS. PAT good. 10:27 Q4.

Farrington’s first drive of the second half start with a sack and ends with a fumbled snap. Saint Louis recovers at the Governors’ 8. On third and goal from the 1, Apo keeps it around the left side. TOUCHDOWN SAINT LOUIS. PAT good. 4:51 Q3.

Apo keeps for 3 yards and his next two throws are incomplete, but Farrington is called for roughing the passer. Paikai picks up 12 on a draw. Samsen Tanuvasa has eight yards on nine carries for Farrington. He’s stopped for no gain on the last two plays of the first quarter. The second quarter starts with Saint Louis’ third sack and Farrington punts.

Farrington goes three and out with a net loss of 3. Governors punt and Saint Louis takes over the midfield. De Laura hits Close over the middle for 25 and caps a four-play drive with a 25-yard strike to Roman Wilson on a post. TOUCHDOWN SAINT LOUIS. PAT Good. 0:56 Q1.

De Laura goes deep again and Roman Wilson makes a tough catch for 27 yards down the right sideline. The Crusaders move back with false starts on the next two plays and a holding call to bring up second-and-30 at the Saint Louis 37. Farrington picks up a first down on three runs, the drive stalls and the Governors punt. Saint Louis takes over at its 30.

Farrington loses 10 yards on its second drive, 8 on a sack by Gino Quinones, and punts. Jayden de Laura  completes a 37-yard strike down the left side to Makoa Close. Dayton Sam loses a fumble and the Governors recover. 8:37 Q1.
