The reeling Saint Louis football team dropped out of the top five of the Star-Bulletin’s latest high school football poll, moving from No. 4 to No. 8 after a loss to Punahou knocked them out of contention for the ILH title and the state berth that comes with it.
The Crusaders, who were ranked No. 1 to begin the season, are two losses behind Kamehameha with two games to go. Saint Louis plays Damien on Friday.
Leilehua, the preseason No. 2, took the Crusaders’ place at No. 4, followed by fellow risers Waianae and ‘Iolani. The top three spots remained unchanged with Kahuku at No. 1, Kamehameha No. 2 and Farrington No. 3.
With the second round of the OIA Red playoffs this week, two games feature ranked teams with No. 9 Mililani visiting No. 1 Kahuku on Friday and No. 10 Kapolei traveling to Roosevelt to play No. 3 Farrington on Saturday.
