Cover2, the weekly Hawaii high school football show on KHON2 that will begin airing every Thursday night in September, released watch lists for four of its seven awards handed out annually every season.

Two returning award winners from last year — Campbell’s Poki’i Adkins-Kupukaa, who won the Herman Wedemeyer Award as the state’s best two-way player, and Saint Louis defensive tackle Faatui Tuitele, who won the Olin Kreutz Award as the state’s top lineman — will attempt to join former Saint Louis quarterback Tua Tagovailoa as the only players to win multiple awards.

Awards handed out are the Marcus Mariota Award (player of the year), Tommy Kaulukukui Award (offensive player of the year), Manti Te’o Award (defensive player of the year), Olin Kreutz Award (lineman of the year), Herman Wedemeyer Award (two-way player of the year), Chad Owens Award (special teams player of the year) and coach of the year.

The season premiere of Cover2 is Thursday, Sept. 6, at 9:30 p.m.
