Kahuku senior defensive end Bradlee Anae did not offer the information, but it turns out that he received a football scholarship offer from BYU a while back.
It just so happened that at the Red Raiders’ practice Thursday, teammate Keala Santiago walked by. Santiago, a defensive back, wide receiver and kick returner, has five college offers, and so he was asked by the media, “Any more offers, Keala?”
He said no, but with the 6-foot-4, 220-pound Anae standing there, the question was a natural: “Have you received any offers?”
Anae said, “I haven’t really talked about it, but I did get an offer from BYU in Provo,” he said before adding that he believes more offers will come.
For now, Anae and the Red Raiders are concentrating on the season at hand. They scrimmage at Mililani on Friday at 7 p.m. and open the regular season with a nonleague game at home against Campbell next Friday.
