Day one at the PTP National College Showcase in Utah was just the preliminary.
The Hawaii group organized by Nate Kia numbers in the dozens. Thursday’s opening day was comprised of 1-on-1 and 7-on-7 competition.
“It was a great day,” Kia said.
Today, the event resumes with 11-on-11 play. The Hawaii group has four teams: Red, Orange, Green and Silver. When those rosters maxed out, island athletes were placed on other teams.
Squads from 10 states are participating in the live-streamed event. Below is the day-one footage along with various clips from social media.
