This was the first of consecutive seasons the Star-Bulletin did not recognize players of the year, giving the Honolulu Advertiser the sole duty of choosing the state’s best.
Saint Louis receiver Brendyn Agbayani and Campbell defensive lineman Jerry Leaeno were voted the top players on offense and defense. Coach of the year honors went to Waianae’s Harry Mitsui.

Saint Louis led the way with 11 selections on the Honolulu Advertiser All-State team and 10 on the Star-Bulletin squad.
Leaeno and Saint Louis’ Vavae Tata were the only two underclassmen selected to both first teams.

Eli Thompson played pop warner 4 Kalani falcons. Lived in the kaiser district (portlock). Kalani pop warner also had Olin Kreutz. His dad was the coach. Dominic Raiola. Afatia Thompson. Jason Scanlan. Sam Kreutz. Keola Willing. Fuaau Faitau. Fletcher Lee. Marcus Mariota also played pop warner at Kalani. Boyd Yap was the coach.
