Punahou, which beat out Saint Louis for the ILH championship in 1953, tied the Crusaders with three players each on the ILH all-star team by the Honolulu Advertiser.
Punahou guard Wendell Marino and Saint Louis running back Talbot George were the only underclassmen on the first team.
The Star-Bulletin had three underclassmen on its first team — George, Punahou guard Gilbert Ane and Punahou back Harry Pacarro.
Rural OIA champion Waialua dominated the league all-star team with seven of the 11 selections by the Honolulu Advertiser. Bulldogs center James Shizuru was the only repeat selection from the previous year.
The Star-Bulletin only had four Bulldogs on its Rural OIA All-Star team.
