7:12 p.m. Kody Mento’s 8-yard burst with 4:59 left closes out the scoring for the Raiders in a 34-0 win. This is their fifth D-II championship in a row, six total. All under Coach Wendell Look.
5:39 p.m. 33-yard field goal by Jordan Lee gives ‘Iolani a 27-0 lead with 6:32 left in the third quarter.
5:19 p.m. Halftime, ‘Iolani up 24-0 and they’re running at will much of the time, which surprises me. Waipahu offense can’t get a consistent drive going, and that’s wearing their own defense down.
4:54 p.m. Kody Mento 6-yard run, ‘Iolani leads 24-0, 5:37 left, first half.
4:44 p.m. Jordan Lee’s 32-yard field goal gives ‘Iolani a 17-0 lead, 10:01 left in the half.
4:32 p.m. Second and 19, Reece Foy passes to Tanner Nishioka on the left sideline, and he goes by two defenders for a 59-yard touchdown. Raiders lead 14-0 with 3:20 left, first quarter.
4:20 p.m. Waipahu muffs a punt and ‘Iolani recovers at the 7-yard line. Kody Mento follows with a 7-yard touchdown run and the Raiders lead 7-0 with 7:52 to go in the first quarter.
3:56 p.m. Minutes away from kickoff. Fairly small crowd right now. That’ll change when Kahuku and Punahou bring their legions for the D-I title game (7 p.m.).
