Three-time defending state champion Campbell, which won its first OIA title since 2013, is the top seed in the DataHouse/HHSAA Softball State Championships beginning Tuesday at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.
The Sabers are making their 13th consecutive appearance in the state tournament.
ILH champion Maryknoll, which beat Punahou for its second consecutive league crown today, 8-7, is the No. 2 seed and is making its fourth appearance at states in the last five years.
BIIF champion Waiakea is making its third straight appearance and is seeded third, ahead of MIL champion Lahainaluna, which is in the state tournament for the 18th time in the last 22 years.
In Division II, top-seeded Kapaa will attempt to win the school’s first state softball title in just its fourth ever appearance at states. KS-Hawaii (No. 2), Kalani (No. 3) and Molokai (No. 4) are the other seeded teams.
None of the four seeds have ever won a state softball championship.

How in the heck does St. Francis not get a seeded bye in the Div-II tournament?
This is the same St. Francis team that beat every single ILH Div-I team, right?
How does St. Francis get placed in DII when they beat up on D1 schools?
