Campbell did not go undefeated, but if it had, it’s a good bet the Sabers would be in the Top 10 nationally.
The Sabers (18-1) finished at No. 22 in the CBS/MaxPreps Xcellent 25 softball rankings after winning their second straight Division I state championship last week.
Campbell, as MaxPreps pointed out in a recent post, won their last five games by a 46-7 run differential. That outburst came after the team’s only loss — 5-4 to Kapolei in the OIA championship game — and it came to a conclusion when the Sabers avenged the loss with a 12-2 victory over the Hurricanes in the state championship game.
At one point during the season, the Sabers got as high as No. 12 nationally.
