Kano is the top seed after sweeping MIT and Officials and following it up with her second OIA title. Teshya Alo competing in the weight class below doesn’t hurt. She will be looking for an Officials rematch with Simon, who made it to the final against Alo last year and took second. Yamaguchi is another state placer, taking third two years ago and certainly as good as anyone else in this bracket. Unfortunately for her, she probably has the toughest draw in the first round in Fernandes, who ruled a weak Paani field but dropped to fifth in the OIA championships.
