Despite beating No. 2 ‘Iolani on the court last week, Maryknoll could not overtake the Raiders in the Honolulu Star-Advertiser Top 10 girls volleyball poll released today.
The Raiders, who also lost a match to No. 1 Kamehameha last week and fell to 4-4 overall, kept their No. 2 ranking. The Spartans, who fell last week in a match to Punahou in the tough Interscholastic League of Honolulu, moved past Moanalua and into the No. 3 spot in the Top 10.
Na Menehune, who dropped to a No. 4 ranking, went the full three sets against Castle and survived an upset bid by the Knights last week.
The only other changes to the Top 10 this week were by Hilo, which jumped two spots to No. 8 after a four-set victory over Kamehameha-Hawaii. The Warriors, who were No. 8 last week, dropped out of the poll and were replaced at No. 10 by Hawaii Baptist.
Here is this week’s Top 10, followed by how much more (or less or same) love the surviving nine Top 10 teams received compared to last week based on the actual points in the poll. Ten voters give 10 points for No. 1, nine to No. 2, eight to No. 3 and so on.
