GIRLS FINALS
>> 127: Alizeih Villaipando (Moanalua) vs. Charity Curran (Campbell)
>> Notes: Villaipando scores with an escape late in the first period, 1-0. … Curran comes back for a 2-1 lead early in the second. … With mor than a minute remaining in the second, Curran goes ahead 3-1. … Curran gets an escape for a 4-1 lead.
>> Result: Curran wins, 4-1.
>> 132: Roselani Ikei (Kaiser) vs. Gabrielle Perez (Moanalua)
>> Notes: No score after the third period. … Still no score after the second period. … Ikei scores on a penalty point. Perez grabbing head gear. … A minute left now. … Ikei gets another point with an escape. … With four seconds left, Perez tries desparately for the takedown, but doesn’t get it and Ikei hangs on.
>> Result: Ikei wins, 2-0.
>> 138: Kamakana Hernandez-Waialae (Waianae) vs. No. 1 Teniya Alo (Kahuku)
>> Notes: It’s another fast one for Alo.
>> Result: Alo wins by fall, 0:18. It’s her second OIA title to go along with two in the ILH.
>> 145: Kaleinani Makuaole (Waianae) vs. Sadie Antoque (Castle)
>> Notes: They two have traded points for a 1-1 tie with less than a minute to go in the third period. This one is in overtime and neither girl is budging. The girls trade escapes in OT for a 2-2 count and it will be decided in on the next point. It ends after four overtimes. Makuaole chooses down and fails to escape and loses on criteria.
>> Result: Antoque wins, 3-2.
>> 155: No. 2 Kelani Corbett (Leilehua) vs. Nina Seoane (Pearl City)
>> Notes: Corbett gets out to a commanding 6-2 lead after one period.
>> Result: Corbett wins, 12-4. It’s Corbett’s second OIA title.
>> 168: No. 8 Jennie Fuamatu (Pearl City) vs. Alyandina Bushe (Kapolei)
>> Notes: A fast one for Fuamatu.
>> Result: Fuamatu wins by fall, 0:21. It’s Fuamatu’s third OIA title.
>> 184: Michelle Tanuvasa (Pearl City) vs. Alana Dela Pena (Moanalua)
>> Notes: An intense match ends with Tanuvasa breaking a 5-5 tie with an overtime takedown.
>> Result: Tanuvasa wins, 7-5
>> 225: Shannlynne Mahoe (Nanakuli) vs. Tangiteina Niutupuivaha (Kahuku)
>> Notes: Mahoe lasts into the second period, but barely.

>> Notes: This one is scoreless after one period. Baron goes up 1-0 and it heads to the third period. Javier makes it 1-1 and there is a medical timeout for Baron with 36 seconds left in regulation. Javier gets called for stalling in overtime.

>> 107: Haylee Fujioka (Roosevelt) vs. Shantelle Mangrobang (Leilehua)
>> Notes: Mangrobang took a 6-2 lead, but Fujioka came back to tie it 6-6. Mangrobang, however, won it with an escape with 12 seconds left.
>> Result: Mangrobang wins, 7-6. Fujioka misses her chance at a second OIA title.

Cooper’s nose is bloody. … Leong gets an escape and a reversal and gets close to a pin and gets closer at 7-4. … Cooper takes it away in the end.

>> Notes: This one goes back and forth and ends with Punley on the winning end of what’s becoming an amazing rivalry. More on this match later.

>> 182: No. 6 Brett Barefoot (Leilehua) vs. Marvin Weilbacher (McKinley)
>> Notes: Barefoot doesn’t need a lot of time in this one.
>> Result: Barefoot wins by fall, 1:14.
>> 195: No. 9 Alize Wright (Campbell) vs. Tao Tuulima (Kapolei)
>> Notes: First period ends 0-0. Wright goes up 1-0 early in the second and the score stays the same headed to third. … Tuulima nearly pulls off an upset by taking a 3-2 lead into the late stages. But Wright gets a takedown with nine seconds left.

>> 220: Jonah Caminos Freitas (Leilehua) vs. Laulii Iosefa (McKinley)
>> Notes: After a scoreless first period Caminos Freitas takes a 3-0 lead with an escape and a takedown. Iosefa fights back to tie at 3-3, but Caminos Fretias goes ahead 4-3. … With 1:06 to go, Iosefa gets a takdown for a 5-4 advantage. Caminos Freitas ties it to send it to overtime. Iosefa appeared to have won with a pin with 18 seconds left in OT, but the refs took it off the board. … Iosea gets an escape, but now Caminos Freitas is on the bottom and will be trying to do the same. He does. It’s 6-6. Then Caminos Freitas gets a takedown with four seconds left.

>> 285: Gerri Co Jenks (Waianae) vs. Ezekiel Samuelu (McKinley)
>> Notes: It’s a close one all the way. Samuelu gets an escape at the end.
>> Result: Samuelu wins, 2-1.
>> 106: Trison Baron (Roosevelt) vs. Joe Kila Faafiu (Leilehua)
>> Notes: Kila Faafiu carries a 3-2 lead deep into the second period and then comes up with an escape to make it 4-2. With time running out in the second period, Faafiu is close to a pin. However, Asuncion ties it at 4-4 in the third and the match moves to overtime. Faafiu takes it with an escape.
>> Result: Faafiu wins, 5-4.
>> 113: Elijah Asuncion (Moanalua) vs. Troy Weilbacher (Waianae)
