LIVE BLOG: OIA dual meet wrestling championships

Here we go. It’s 11:38 a.m., at Campbell High. OIA dual meet wrestling championships. All of the results below are: UNOFFICIAL.

It’s Mililani vs. Moanalua for the girls championship.

It’s Kapolei vs. Waianae for the boys championship.


Girls 122

Victoria Lee of Mililani just pinned Hailey Perez of Moanalua in 3:54. She was leading 12-5 before that. Perez was hanging tough for most of the match. Mililani is ahead in team scoring 6-0.

Girls 127
Mililani does not have a wrestler for 127. Team score is tied 6-6.

Girls 132
Moanalua’s Rachel Oshita has a 2-1 lead on Mililani’s Jolena Lefao.

It’s now 5-1 in favor of Oshita, who is in command.

The score is now 9-1 after a few more takedowns.

Oshita gets the pin at 3:50. Moanalua leads 12-6 in team score.

Neither squad has a wrestler for this division. Score still Moanalua 12, Mililani 6.

Kim Kealoha of Mililani just took a 4-2 lead on Teme Kerisiano. It’s an intense battle so far.

Kerisiano just came back with a takedown to make it 4-4.

Branson Magsayo for the Waianae pin over Jayden Jones of Kapolei — at 1:13. Waianae leads boys team score 6-0.

Waianae’s Shaiden Bailey pins Kapolei’s Journey Feliciano at 2:45. Seariders boys up 12-0. He was leading 2-1 at the time.

Mililani does not have a wrestler in this group. Moanalua girls take the lead 18-12.

Moanalua’s Kayla Antolin pins Mililani’s Kawehi Souza at 3:44. She was leading 5-1. Moanalua girls lead team score 24-12.

Boys 138
Waianae’s Daniel Branigan has a 7-2 lead on Kapolei’s Kaimana McBrayer. Branigan’s lead is now 9-4. Medical timeout.

Branigan holds on in a tight one for an 11-7 victory. He gets 3 team points. Waianae boys team is up 15-0.

Girls 184
Moanalua’s Chloe Yuen pins Mililani’s Jacinta Fonoti in 2:40. Na Menehune girls take a 30-18 team lead. Yuen was down 5-2 at the time of the pin.

Girls team score so far: Moanalua 30, Mililani 12.

Mililani’s Ati Fonoti gets an escape in the second period to break a scoreless tie. She leads 1-0 over Princess Leota. It’s going to the third period. Fonoti is in control, but anything can happen.

Leota just scored an escape to make it 1-1.

Leota reversal with 40 seconds left makes it 3-2 in her favor.

Leota called for stalling. Fonoti is up 5-3.

Fonoti hangs on for a 5-4 win and 3 team points.

Team score is 30-15 in favor of Moanalua.

Boys 145
Big battle going on here. Waianae’s Breeze Keolanui is ahead 5-4 on Kapolei’s Isaiah Armington. This one looks like it could go the distance. 1:26 to go in third period.

Armington ties it temporarily at 5-5 before Keolanui gets a takedown for a 7-5 lead.

Keolanui holds Armington off for a 9-5 victory and 3 team points. Seariders boys have an 18-0 lead.

Girls 97
Mililani’s Erin Hikiji is ahead 2-1, but there is a medical timeout for Moanalua’s Caitlin Yap. Hikiji is called for an illegal hold and the match victory is awarded to Yap. Moanalua’s team lead is now 36-15.

Hikiji stormed off the mat, seemingly angry at the result.

Girls 102
Moanalua’s Isabelle Asuncion has a 3-0 lead on Mililani’s Kennedy Javier. One minute left in the third period.

Javier is back in it at 3-2, but Asuncion closes it out by that one-point count.

Girls team score is now: Moanalua 39, Mililani 15.

Boys 152
Kapolei’s Branden Pagurayan makes quick work of Waianae’s Dustin Balancio-Sadamaru, winning by fall in 0:35. Hurricanes are on the board.

Boys team score so far: Waianae 18, Kapolei 6.

Kapolei is coming back. Tim Uriam pins Jet Li Lam in 0:48.

Boys team score so far: Waianae 18, Kapolei 12.

Miya Jhun has a commanding 8-1 lead on Mililani’s Angelina Calpito. 1:30 left in second period.

Calpito makes it 8-4.

Calpito gets the pin with four seconds left.

Boys 170
Great match going on here. Kapolei’s Kilohana Swanson took a 6-3 lead, but Waianae’s Vanderlei Young is coming back. He makes it 6-5 and then gets a near pin to go ahead 8-6.

With 1:09 to go, Young leads 10-8

Swanson with a takedown — 10-10.

With 15 seconds left, Swanson with another takedown. 12-10.

And Swanson holds on for the two-point win.

Boys team score so far: Waianae 18, Kapolei 15.

Moanalua does not have a wrestler in this division.

Waianae’s Kayzehn Aiwohi-Frisby and Kapolei’s Jamil Sampel are in a tight one.

But 3:43 into the match, Aiwohi-Frisby gets the pin.

Kapolei’s Billy Makaila has a slim 2-1 lead over Kainoa Santos of Waianae.

In the end, Makaila gets the pin.
