The elite teams in Hawaii are in for another scrap this year, if the 808 Prep Soccer Showcase is to be believed.
Kalani came through with the best record, at 2-0-1, beating ILH powers Iolani and Punahou while playing to a draw with Kamehameha-Maui. The Falcons were the only school to not allow a goal in their three matches.
While the Falcons were the only unbeaten, Iolani, KS-Maui and defending state champion Baldwin suffered the indignity of going back to the drawing board as the tournament’s only winless teams at 0-2-1. Iolani’s tie came against the Bears.
Punahou, Kapolei, Saint Louis and Mililani all finished 2-1. The Buffanblu enjoyed the greatest goal differential, scoring eight and allowing only two.

I can’t recall the last time that the team that won this tournament went on to win the State Championship. Finalist HPA and semifinalist King Kekaulike didn’t play in this tournament.
