
Kahuku, the No. 1 team in the Star-Advertiser Girls Volleyball Top 10, is ranked No. 53 nationally by PrepVolleyball.com.
The rankings were released on Thursday. Kamehameha, ranked No. 2 here, is ranked right behind Kahuku at No. 54. Kahuku defeated Kamehameha during nonconference play recently.
The Hawaii teams didn’t do anything to hurt their national rankings on Friday at the Durango Classic in Las Vegas.
Kahuku and Kamehameha both won their pools with undefeated records on the first day and start playoff action on Saturday. Hawaii Baptist lost both of its matches and finished third in its pool.

Kamehameha starts with Sacred Heart on Saturday and Kahuku takes on St. Ignatious Prep. Hawaii Baptist meets Palo Verde in a lower bracket.
