JAN 3, 2002: Leo Sing Chow and other ILH aces throw gems

On this date in 2002, a no-hitter in softball was no big deal.

Punahou’s Sarah Weisskopf and Nicole Cazinha of Sacred Hearts threw abbreviated no-hitters, Ioneta Lei of Iolani shut out University and Kamehameha’s Leo Sing Chow yielded just one hit in a win over a Pac-Three team.

The aces weren’t limited to pitching excellence as all but Weisskopf paired hits.

Wiesskopf struck out 10 batters in her no-hitter and walked only one. Cazinha didn’t allow a walk but had three errors behind her.
