‘Iolani’s Elena Oglivie makes U.S. Girls Youth National Training Team

‘Iolani’s Elena Oglivie, a two-time All-State girls volleyball player of the year, is one of 24 athletes who have been selected to the U.S. Girls Youth National Training Team.

Twelve players will then be selected to represent the United States at the FIVB Girls’ U18 World Championships in September in Cairo, Egypt.

Oglivie, who last month announced her commitment to play at Stanford, is one of 10 outside hitters to make the training team.


She led the Raiders to a state championship as a junior, amassing 499 kills and 332 digs along with 37 blocks and 19 aces. She hit .379 and set a state-final record with 28 kills in the win over Kamehameha.

The PrepVolleyball.com national freshman of the year in 2016, Oglivie will enter her senior season with 1,407 career kills and 1,166 digs.

    Coach Robin don’t let this one get away, I know you and many others got Elena in their sights. I hope she chooses to stay home.
