HAWAII GROWN: D-I soccer players from Hawaii

Wednesday’s Hawaii Grown section in the Honolulu Star-Advertiser will profile Washington senior midfielder Shaye Villanueva, a 2014 ‘Iolani graduate, who didn’t have a college scholarship offer when she finished her senior season with the Raiders.

Despite that, the All-ILH first-team midfielder in 2014 has gone on to start 35 matches and play close to 60 games in four years with the Huskies, who are 6-2 this year and beat then-No. 2 Florida, 1-0, at the beginning of the month.

Villanueva is one of 44 women and nine men currently listed on Division I mainland soccer rosters. The full list is below:
