Campbell tops state baseball brackets

OIA champion Campbell received the top seed in the Division I Wally Yonamine Foundation Baseball State championships beginning May 6.

The Sabers, who narrowly beat Mililani for the OIA title, play the winner between Maui and Moanalua in the second round at Les Murakami Stadium.

ILH champion Mid-Pacific earned the second seed and will meet either Waiakea or Kailua.


Baldwin is the third seed as the MIL champion and gets the winner between OIA powers Mililani and Pearl City.

BIIF champion Hilo has the other top seed on Campbell’s half of the bracket and will play the winner between Kamehameha and Kaiser.


The semifinals are May 8 at Les Murakami Stadium with the championship the next day.

Maryknoll received the top seed in the Division II tournament and will play Kapolei in the opening round. Other first-round matchups are No. 4 seed Kauai vs. Konawaena, No. 2 seed KS-Hawaii vs. Molokai and No. 3 seed Aiea vs. Pac-Five.
