With the Star-Advertiser’s softball all-state team coming out Sunday, here is a look at the All-State teams from 2010-present.
Although there are still dominant pitchers, this decade is marked by sluggers giving them a challenge. Heavy-hitting pitchers like Katie Manuma, Keiki Carlos and Leisha Liilii gave way to bombers like Mysha Sataraka of Punahou and Mid-Pacific’s Nicole Lopez but all came to a head when Jocelyn Alo took her bat from Kahuku to Castle and repeated as position player of the year two years in a row. If you want to see how time is flying by, check out the flip phone in Manuma’s hand in 2010.
