Kalaheo’s Avery Torres won his second straight OIA Eastern Division cross country title on Saturday at Central Oahu Regional Park.
Torres finished the boys 5-kilometer race in 16 minutes, 38.91 seconds. Teammate Colby Otero finished second in 16:53.42 as Kalaheo placed four runners in the top 10 to win the team title with 32 points.
Miyuu Handa finished third in the girls 5k, one of four Kalaheo runners to place in the top 10 to help the Mustangs win the team title with 36 points. Moanalua’s Carly Dailey won the girls race in 21:33.39.
Also at CORP on Saturday, Radford’s Camryn Butz won her fourth race of the season at the OIA Western Division Championships. The senior finished the girls 5k in 21:11.30 and helped the Rams win the team title with 48 points.
Timothy Schiller of Mililani won the boys race in 17:55.47, edging out Radford’s Jacob Vigliante (18:06.39). Radford edged Campbell 64 to 67 to win the team title.
Punahou’s Connor Lehl clocked in at 16:44.52 to win the boys race at Saturday’s Punahou Invitational. Teammate Aaron Shiinoki was second in 17:15.61. ‘Iolani placed five runners in the top 10 to claim the boys title with 33 points.
Seabury Hall had four finishers in the top 10 to win the girls title with 38 points. Punahou was second with 43. Pac-Five’s Jordan Jones won the race in 19:41.05.
The ILH Championships are Oct. 22 at Mid-Pacific and OIA Championships are the same day at CORP.
