Hawaii’s all-time career rushing record holder is now a Polynesian Bowl All-Star. Waipahu senior Alfred Failauga earned the honor today to play in the high school football all-star game at Aloha Stadium in January. The 5-foot-11, 190-pound running back broke Vavae Malepeai‘s career rushing mark in the state of Hawaii last week in a loss to Leilehua. Alfred Failauga’s special night could pale in comparison to what’s likely to happen in six days. The 342 rushing yards he produced on 31 carries in a 49-28 win at Castle on Friday were the fifth most in a single game in Oahu history.
