The Raiders used their rushing attack and defense to stifle the Monarchs for a 34-14 win in the ILH Division II second-round final. Storm Lotomau (110 yards) and K.J. Pascua (91) ran for one TD each for ‘Iolani, which captured the ILH D-II title.

INSTANT CLASSIC. Saint Louis needed a win over regular-season (first round) winner Punahou to force a championship game. The Crusaders led 13-0, but the Buffanblu rallied for a 35-28 victory, capturing the ILH Division I football title.

This was a sloppy, physical, mistake-prone game for both teams, but in the end, immensely exciting, thrilling and dramatic. Down to the last 10 seconds. Kesi Ah-Hoy’s 4-yard TD run gave the Red Raiders a 21-14 win in the OIA Division I semifinal round at Aloha Stadium.

Aiea was a decided underdog in the opening round of the OIA Division I playoffs, but rallied from a two-touchdown deficit to take a 20-14 lead. However, Na Alii couldn’t find a solution for Jurick Valdez. The fullback bolted up the hash marks for three long touchdown runs as the Seariders rallied for a 42-26 victory.

Wayne Taulapapa rushed for 126 yards and two TDs, Kanawai Noa caught caught a TD pass and returned a punt 51 yards for another score, and Ephraim Tuliloa threw three TD passes in Punahou’s 47-7 victory at Aloha Stadium.
