Konawaena’s 5-foot-8 and under lineup faced another nationally-ranked team in this ‘Iolani Classic matchup. The Lady Crusaders of Riverdale Baptist features four college prospects and their front line measures at 6-4, 6-2, 6-1 and 6-1. Chanelle Molina scored 22 points to lead the Wildcats (13-0) to an upset victory. Riverdale was ranked No. 1 by MaxPreps and No. 16 by USA Today.

This battle between five-time Hawaii state champion Konawaena and No. 23 Miramonte went down to the final minute. It featured incredible performances from Konawaena’s Chanelle Molina (27 points, six rebounds, seven assists) and Miramonte’s Sabrina Ionescu (39 points, 17 rebounds, six steals, five assists, three blocks and six 3-pointers. Top-seeded Lahainaluna and second-seeded ‘Iolani squared off in the Division II final of the First Hawaiian Bank/HHSAA Football State Championships at Aloha Stadium. ‘Iolani took control from the start en route to a 31-14 win, collecting its eighth D-II state crown in the last 11 seasons.
