UH looking at local recruiting shutout

With the clock ticking down Wednesday’s morning’s signing day, the list of local products to stay home and play for Hawaii appears to hinge on Kahuku standout Kesi Ah-Hoy. Ah-Hoy originally had the Warriors first on his list before entertaining offers from Oregon State. He is expected to decide on Wednesday morning. Much was made of Tua Tagovailoa’s recruitment, and even though the Saint Louis product has settled in at the University of Alabama, his prospect rankings have hit a new high. Bleacher Report recently ranked the dual-threat quarterback as the nation’s No. 20 overall prospect. Only Georgia’s Davis Mills (No. 15), a Stanford commit, was ranked ahead of Tagovailoa, Hawaii’s all-time career passing leader, among quarterbacks. Air Force got itself a nice prize just 24 hours before National Letter of Intent Signing Day. Kamehameha defensive lineman Nakoa Pauole, who was offered by Air Force, Army, Navy and Fresno State, announced on Twitter he will sign with the Falcons. Maui’s Afemui commits to SEC school

Maui High three-star linebacker Feleti Afemui made his commitment to Vanderbilt official on Saturday. Afemui, who tweeted the news, chose the Commodores over Army, Hawaii, Utah and Washington State. He will join offensive lineman Sean Auwae-McMoore, who redshirted for Vanderbilt this past season as a freshman after graduating from Kapolei. First Oregon State got Kahuku’s Kesi Ah-Hoy to open up his recruitment after committing to Hawaii. Then it got Leilehua’s Charles Moku Watson to commit after he had originally pledged to Washington State last summer. Now the Beavers are adding some beef to their offensive line from Hawaii with the commitment of Waianae’s Onesimus Lutu-Clarke.
