Worcester State quarterback Noah Brum, a 2014 Kalani graduate, was named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference co-offensive player of the week on Sunday. Brum, who owns the two best single-game passing performances ever at Kalani, threw for 364 yards and set the Lancers’ single-game completion percentage record of 77.8 percent (28-for-36) with five touchdowns in a 48-0 shutout of Massachusetts Maritime on Saturday in his final home game of the season. Jordan Ta’amu completed 20 of 30 passes for 368 yards in his debut as the Ole Miss starting quarterback Saturday. Ta’amu, a 2015 Pearl City graduate, did not have a touchdown pass and he threw one interception in a 38-37 SEC loss to Arkansas. Ta’amu also rushed for 76 yards and two touchdowns. Jordan Taamu, the former Pearl City star quarterback, stepped into the role of the Ole Miss starting quarterback after Shea Patterson went down with an injury in a 40-24 loss to LSU on Saturday, according to news sources, including the Jackson Clarion-Ledger. Former Kamehameha defensive end Mika Tafua, a 2014 Honolulu Star-Advertiser All-State first team selection, has enrolled at Utah and has joined the Utes football team on scholarship. Utah announced Tafua’s addition to the roster today. Listed at 6-foot-3 and 228 pounds, Tafua originally signed with Brigham Young out of high school. The Central Florida sophomore quarterback was named the American Athletic Conference offensive player of the week today after lighting up the scoreboard yet again in a 63-21 victory over East Carolina on Saturday. Utah senior Adora Anae, who was named the Pac-12 offensive player of the week today, is the Utes’ all-time career kills record holder. The 2014 Kahuku alumna, who was named to the AVCA All-America second team as a junior, recorded her 1,621st kill in the first set of Sunday’s four-set win over Washington State to pass Kim Turner‘s record total of 1,620.
