Kamehameha’s got a new quarterback

By Jerry Campany on August 3, 2013

With Makoa Camanse-Stevens gone to graduation, the Kamehameha football team is searching for a new quarterback. But that’s nothing new; the Warriors have had a different passing leader every year since Michael Hoke graduated following the 2007 season. Should sophomore Fatu Sua-Godinet win the job and hold on to it for his whole career, he would be the first 3-year starter at the position since Garrett Awai in 1983-1985. Kahuku starts hitting

By Jerry Campany on August 1, 2013

Defending state champion Kahuku hosted Campbell for a scrimmage on Thursday, and a good time was had by all (except for the screaming coaches). “Ever since Thanksgiving we have been going against our teammates,” Kahuku defensive end Lamone Williams said. “It was good to go against somebody else.” Williams ended Campbell’s last possession of the scrimmage with a sack of the quarterback, making up for being blocked on the previous play and a long pass to start the 2-minute drill. He had contracted pinkeye the day before the ceremony. “I love the team and the coaches,” he said by phone on Wednesday. “The recruiting class is great. A lot […]
