To many poll voters, you have to beat the best to be the best. With so few meaningful games so far in the fall season, defending state champions in football and volleyball have kept their holds on the top spot in the Star-Advertiser’s polls. Castle was a real pain in Kahuku’s side in Kaneohe on Friday, but only for a quarter and a half. After that, the Red Raiders went into battle mode and scored 38 unanswered points in a 56-19 win. Saint Louis wide receivers get plenty of attention every day from Cal — Coach Cal Lee, that is. As of Friday, however, it was another Cal that took interest in a speedy junior wide receiver for the Crusaders. The University of California at Berkeley made Drew Kobayashi a scholarship offer, his first and probably not his last. Kobayashi’s mother, Resi, confirmed the offer by Cal.
