‘Iolani’s Makekau picks Navy

‘Iolani senior Keoni-Kordell Makekau said Friday he has committed to Navy and will sign with the Midshipmen next Wednesday on National Letter of Intent Signing Day. The speedy 5-foot-10, 170-pound wide receiver visited Navy back in November and took in a home game against SMU. Kaiser multi-purpose player Nic Tom told Hawaii Prep World on Friday that he is waiting to hear back from Hawaii before making a decision between the Warriors and Air Force for his college football career. Savai‘i Eselu is the new football head coach at Moanalua, according to the Moanalua athletics Twitter account. The account administrator tweeted: “Welcome new head football coach alumni Savai’i Eselu … MENE RESPECT ABOUT TO BE EARNED.” Eselu is a former Na Menehune tight end who played college football at Cal. Former Govs LB Pritchard commits to Hawaii

Former Farrington outside linebacker Jeremiah Pritchard orally committed to play for Hawaii, according to Rivals.com. Pritchard made his commitment Saturday. He played for the Governors as a junior and went to Silverado High in Las Vegas for his senior year. He was one of four Farrington players to transfer to Silverado before last season. Stanford is the school for Saint Louis offensive lineman Nate Herbig. The 6-foot-4, 320-pounder orally committed to the Cardinal on Thursday. Noah-Falcon Kaumatule is a freshman at Punahou and he is also the recipient of a football scholarship offer from BYU, according to Rivals.com.
