Q&A: New Kaiser football coach Arnold Martinez

As of Sunday, Arnold Martinez is officially the new head coach of the Kaiser High School football program. Martinez is no stranger to the Oahu Interscholastic Association. He coached 11 seasons at Moanalua, lifting the program to new heights. When he arrived there, only two players had their paperwork ready on the first day of offseason workouts. Colorado State makes offer to Lautaha

Takaamoatoa Lautaha, a defensive end/linebacker at St. Francis, has received a football scholarship offer from Colorado State. It is the first offer for Lautaha, who made the announcement on Twitter.

Kaiser chooses Martinez as next football coach

Arnold Martinez will become the new football head coach at Kaiser, trusted Honolulu Star-Advertiser and Hawaii Prep World sources said Thursday. This will be Martinez’s second head coaching job in Hawaii high school football. He was previously the head man at Moanalua, compiling a 51-51 record in 11 seasons from 2003 to 2013. The 7v7 battle on the final day of the GPA Football College Showcase included many of the top quarterbacks, receivers, linebackers and defensive backs in the state.
