Lee had missed the last two games dealing with a bout of kidney stones. He is scheduled to undergo surgery next week, but toughed it out on the Saint Louis sideline on Friday night. Watching his defense […]

Leilehua’s Watson to have season-ending surgery

By Paul Honda on October 22, 2016

The Leilehua Mules can rock and roll with some of the most explosive foes in the state. That much is true, even on a night when the mighty Mules had to begin life without one of the top two-way performers in the islands. Charles Moku Watson, their standout defensive back/wide receiver, didn’t dress for the game against No. 7 Mililani on Friday. Watson, who recently decommitted from Washington State, will undergo surgery to repair a torn labrum on Tuesday according […]

By Nick Abramo on October 22, 2016

Some day in the distant future when Waipahu players reminisce about this playoff win, they’ll recall the late flurry that got the deed done. This 13-7 victory over Pearl City on Friday night was by no means easy. The two teams traded mostly defensive blows all night — and it had the feel that it was going to overtime with a 7-all stalemate. But then things began to change. It was two defensive plays that got the ball rolling in Waipahu’s […]

St. Francis continues to build strong program

By Christian Shimabuku on October 22, 2016

In four short years, St. Francis has gone from a football team to a football program. Formerly an all-girls’ school, it went co-ed in 2006 and the student body is currently about equal in male and female enrollment. In October 2012, the school got permission from the ILH and Sister Joan of Arc Souza announced plans to start a varsity program. Those plans came to fruition in the 2013 season. St. Francis dropped their first 16 ILH games. It wasn’t […]
