Vanderbilt offers another Saint Louis target

Saint Louis sophomore Faatui Tuitele wasn’t the only Crusaders to receive some good news from Vanderbilt this week. Two days after Tuitele picked up one of his two SEC offers this week, Vanderbilt also extended an offer to Saint Louis junior defensive back Isaiah Tufaga. Tufaga tweeted the news on Friday. June Jones joining Saint Louis

After more than 30 years in coaching, June Jones is moving into administration as Saint Louis School’s new director of athletic programs and development, the school said. “He (Jones) will be overseeing the athletics program as far as helping our students reach not only athletic excellence but also academic excellence, which is really a big part of why he wanted to be at Saint Louis,” said Glenn Medeiros, head of school for Saint Louis. “He really cares about Hawaii’s kids.” […]

At 6-foot-3 and 270 pounds, Saint Louis sophomore defensive lineman Faatui Tuitele is setting himself up to be the most sought after Hawaii high school football player in the class of 2019. It wasn’t a typical Wednesday morning on the Saint Louis campus. It was absolutely memorable as students got out of class briefly. With the high school student body seated in Mamiya Theater and occasionally cheering, representatives of the US Army All-American Bowl presented a jersey to Crusaders senior quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. Kamehameha senior Adam Stack, one of two players from Hawaii selected to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Saturday, Jan. 7, in San Antonio, received his jersey today in a presentation on campus. Stack has committed to Oregon and still plans to enroll in January. The Polynesian Bowl, scheduled for Jan. 21 at Aloha Stadium, is expected to announce Monday two more players from Hawaii who have accepted invites to the game. Mililani receiver Andrew Valladares and ‘Iolani kicker/punter Evan Minami will join the other 24 seniors from the islands already selected to play in the first-ever Polynesian Bowl high school all-star game.
