Every first-team, All-State selection since 1972

The 2016 Honolulu Star-Advertiser All-State football team will be released this month, adding a new group of talented players to the list of greats going all the way back to the first All-State team published by the Honolulu Advertiser in 1972. Frigid is exactly what it is in Kansas today. Temperatures with a high of 29 on Monday couldn’t put a damper on a tremendous season for defensive lineman Kahewai Kaaiawaawa. The former Mililani Trojan started for Garden City Community College (Kan.), which went 11-0 and reached the National Junior College Athletic Association championship game, beating No. 2 Arizona Western 25-22 on Saturday. Tua tells Alabama he won’t visit LSU

Saint Louis quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is making his official visit to Alabama, and the way it sounds it is a mere formality. The state champion’s father, Galu, told a reporter there that Alabama is their only choice whether offensive coordinator Lane Kiffen moves on to LSU or not. After initially declining an invite so he wouldn’t miss time with the Kahuku basketball team, senior cornerback Kekaula Kaniho has formally accepted an offer to play in the 2017 Polynesian Bowl.
