OIA, ILH master football schedule

The 2017 combined high school football schedule for OIA and ILH teams is below. It includes nonleague games, games against mainland teams and Oahu Interscholastic Association and Interscholastic League of Honolulu regular-season games. The OIA and ILH playoffs run throughout October and the state tournament follows on two weekends in November. MaxPreps pegs Kahuku as No. 1 in Hawaii

Kahuku is the top football team in Hawaii this preseason, according to MaxPreps.com. On Thursday, the website released its list of the No. 1 team in each state, and chose Kahuku with the following explanation: “The Red Raiders check in as the No. 1 team from the Aloha State largely because of superstar quarterback Sol-Jay Maiava. Declarations will be a hot topic when the Hawaii Interscholastic Athletic Directors Association convention begins next week at the Hilton Waikoloa Village. Rosario chooses Waianae over Liberty

Rico Rosario, one of the top running backs in the state, made a huge life decision last week. He chose to remain at Waianae for his senior season rather than move to Nevada with his family and play at Liberty High. Rosario will be staying with his grandmother. Saint Louis QB commits to Hawaii

In case you missed it, the Star-Advertiser’s Stephen Tsai reported Tuesday that Saint Louis quarterback Chevan Cordeiro has committed to Hawaii. You can read the full story here. Cordeiro, who is 6 feet and 180 pounds, played in 10 of the Crusaders’ 11 games last season as a backup to starter Tua Tagovailoa. Pilares to run an athletic camp at Damien

Former Damien football star Kealoha Pilares will be running his Athletic-Based Movement” camp at his alma mater with six sessions this summer. Maui High product Jonathan Lolohea has become one of the most sought after junior college prospects this offseason. The 6-foot-3, 315-pound defensive lineman is now enrolled at Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Mississippi after playing last season at Los Angeles Valley College in California.
