Kahuku’s Ethan Erickson a Polynesian Bowl All Star

Kahuku tight end Ethan Erickson has been selected a 2019 Polynesian Bowl All Star. The 6-foot-5, 220-pound senior has caught eight passes for 110 yards this season for the Red Raiders. Erickson committed to Brigham Young during the summer over offers from Navy and Utah State. Hurricane messes with ILH football seeding

The threat of Hurricane Lane that caused football games to be canceled or postponed the weekend of Aug. 24-25 has also caused the ILH to adjust its Open Division football seeding procedure, according to sources. Selections from Hawaii for the 2019 Polynesian Bowl are still ongoing, but the 2020 game has its first All Star from the islands as of today. Saint Louis linebacker Jordan Botelho, the top-rated prospect from Hawaii in the junior class, has been selected for the 2020 edition of the annual high school football all-star game at Aloha Stadium. For the first time since 2015, the Kahuku Red Raiders are not ranked in the top three in the state. The three-time defending OIA champions dropped two spots to No. 4 in the Honolulu Star-Advertiser Football Top 10 this week after losing 38-10 to Mililani on Saturday to end a 51-game home winning streak at Carlton E. Campbell’s homecoming night on Friday included a matchup with nationally-ranked Saint Louis, which was coming off its second consecutive win by less than 10 points. The Crusaders rolled the Sabers 55-7 to remain No. 11 in the MaxPreps Xcellent 25 and No. 17 in the USA Today Super 25 this week. Highlights of the win over the Sabers are below.
