Crusaders rise to 9-0 with 75-49 rout of Mustangs

Season 1 is coming to a close soon, which brings Saint Louis that much closer to the end of a sterling exhibition basketball effort. The Crusaders overwhelmed Mustangs Basketball Club, 75-49, on Wednesday night at Clarence T.C. Ching Athletic Center. Nevada is in high school football mode this spring. Gov. Steve Sisolak announced on Wednesday that the football season, postponed last fall due to the COVID-19 pandemic, would be played this spring. That means 44 states have played or are starting prep football in the 2020-21 academic year. In Hawaii, public school leagues postponed all fall sports in 2020. Biola University has a pipeline to the Kakigi household. Hanalani/Pac-Five soccer player Leah Kakigi is the latest member of the family to enroll at the Los Angeles-based university. “I feel good. I feel excited. Girls and boys basketball never went away in 2021. The game simply waited, and this weekend, there will be a cathartic moment or two for the Kamehameha Warriors and Hawaii Baptist Academy Eagles. In the midst of unusual circumstances, an eighth-grade harrier on the ‘Iolani cross country team is making virtual lemonade. Spencer Lyau is a competitive runner in his own right, posting a time of 12 minutes, 24 seconds, second among intermediate boys from ‘Iolani and Maryknoll on Saturday at the Raiders’ on-campus course. Hunter Sasaki learned how to hit the books to make his dream come true. The Leilehua senior signed to play baseball for St. Martin’s (Wash.). The plan is to major in civil engineering. “Luckily, they have it,” said Sasaki, who has a 4.0 grade-point average. “I felt connected with the coaches.
